Has anyone got any opinions/experience of 'Biotest Surge' as a post-workout recovery drink..?

It's mentioned (alot) in a mass building program Ill be doing in a few weeks (The
program's author, john berardi, also had a role in the design of the drink).

It doesn't seem to be easily attainable in Ireland, and a little pricey on the UK sites. Any suggestions for alternative..? Or would anyone care to evangelise that it's worth paying the import price for..?

    Cheers.

I like Biotest supps, but have never used Surge.

Buying direct from them over www.t-nation.com does not seem to be too expensive.

Personally i think you can get the same effect out of a well thought out p.w.o shake. decide what you want in it then head ovwer to myprotein.co.uk and they'll mix it up to your specs.

But be careful because part-hydrolized whey tastes like complete ass.

I think Surge is a good product, but using surge instead of a normal whey isolate/concentrate + glucose shake is a pretty small detail. What I mean by that is, if you're doing all the major things right (not skipping meals, eating clean, getting 8 - 10hrs sleep a night, great programme etc.) then maybe it should be something you might consider, otherwise it's not so important. Dr. Berardi talks about it alot in his article as he has a vested interest in you buying the stuff.

It's a good product, but don't mortgage your house to get it.
