Installing X

Howdy, Have a spare computer so going to stick linux on it for messing about and so forth. I want to install X as the gui. Is there any funny business doing that ? Is there any particular flavour of linux that is best suited to using X, anyone know of any packages that come with it already included? Thanks

I Put Damn small linux on a old laptop and for a 50mb installation , its great.
the Gui is very clean and looks decent even on the old laptop.
Easy to set up and even has mozzilla firefox and lots more stuff.
Just remember to add

"sudo cfdisk"-no quotes into the terminal to partition a drive for linux use.
You can even run it on a ramdisk or usb stick or even a virtual console in windows:D.
It even boots off the cd.
