I am in the same boat as yourself - same height, weight, etc.

There is no real quick way to losing weight unless you want to starve yourself - which is not the way to go

You might want to alternate your exercise program - try running instead of cycling

Most importantly is the diet - exercise and a good, sensible diet should help towards weight loss

In fact there are several stickies in this forum that deal with calorie intake and what you should do to aid weight loss

I have tried to adhere to what has been suggested and it does work, but it will take time

as Ph3n0m said the most important aspect to losing weight will be your diet read the stickies then come up with a diet plan, post it up aswell as your current one and we will see if we think there maybe any pit fall you may encounter. Just remember to be truthful as other then that you wont get the advise you need

im lazy and not afraid to say it
Like the others said, post your current diet. As for the laziness, you'll need an exercise programme that you will enjoy so you stick with it - also it's possible that some of your laziness could be linked to poor dietary habits.

ok before anyone else replies to this, there is already a thread on the discussing WW as a way to lose weight so if people wan to discuss WW use the thread http://wwww.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2054967705 and let the OP try and keep this thread on track. I know this thread is going to go off topic soon enough but at least give it a bit longer

your diet is clearly your problem then. join weightwatchers and stick with it. if you cant maintain a decent diet, all the cardio in the world wont help you. it'll just make you hungry, and then you'll order a take-out.

Dude, losing weight takes one very important thing. You MUST WANT TO LOOSE WEIGHT. If you approach the whole process half hearted or half arsed you might as well be pi**ing against the wind (pardon the pun) and you will be dieting for the rest of your life. Once you get your mind in the right frame you can acomplish anything. It has taken me 9 months to loose 4 and a half stone. There is no magic pill and no quick trick to it. I wish you the best of luck in your battle against the bulge - and believe me it is a battle. May the force be with you...

Blend up a variety of veg and bung it into a spag bol, curry or shepherd's pie. You won't taste the veg, but you'll still get its goodness, and the sauce will be a little thicker than usual.

I found when I took up squash it helped a lot. I found that because I got a little bit competitive that I pushed myself way harder than I might have on a bike.

I don't really have the motivation to sit on a bike or run on a tread mill.

The most important thing is that you get somebody who can play at the same level as you. So you don't get battered every time.
