Had a guy in the shop today who was asking about a PWO all in one shake. He said he tried Cyclone but that he got violently ill on it. He said his heart rate went through the roof, he got the sweats and couldn't concentrate and felt very uneasy. The main ingredients in any PWO all in one are usually Protein, Arginine AKG, Glutamine and creatine.

He takes protein and doesn't react badly to it, so that rules out the protein and glutamine, he takes Xplode and doesn't react badly to it so that rules out the Arginine AKG, which leaves the Creatine. Has anyone come across reactions like this to Creatine Mono? He has said he doesn't eat red meat, not that make much difference as the creatine is available in other foods - any thoughts?

very suprising reaction, as creatine is naturally present in the body. the fact that the supplement is in monohydrate form should not have any effect on its tolerance.

Looking at the ingredients in Cyclone, there is also Beta-hydroxy beta-methylbutyrate, which is also produced in the body, so its probably not that, and also Beta-Ecdysterone, which is not endogenous and may cause adverse reactions.

However, being honest, it would not suprise me if there was additional contamination of the product that caused this reaction. I ordered Glutamine from maximuscle once, and when it arrived the entire container was heavily contaminated with large amounts of ammonia, rendering it poisonous. Of course they never replied to my letters and emails about it, so I let it go, but it wouldn't suprise me if it happened again. Does he still have the product? Might want to get someone to have a look at it for him.

Not sure whether he still has the product. I just recommended he see his doctor.
Interesting about Cyclone that, I wonder if he did get a dodgy batch.

    Thanks
