Yep, "playable demo, coming soon to XBLM"

Video with quote at the end. Some spoilers, nothing too major although a new maniac and some cool new weapons shown. Hopefully the demo will hit before the Euro release (8th next month) , I would get all moist if it hit before the US date (the 8th of this month), if it's before neither then meh, what's the point.

Oh god I'd do anything for it.... Haven't wanted a game this much since Oblivion..

2 vastly contrasting Videos... If you didn't know the premise of the game then the first video might lead you to believe this was a serious zombie game (ala the RE series). The second would clear that misconception right up

Hmm interesting, I'd written this off as State of Emergency with Zombies after the first official movie looked so similar to it, but looks like its turning out a hell of a lot better than that!

It looks great alright. Seems like the 360 is finally lifting off the ground, saints row, dead rising, mass effect, gears of war, splinter cell, forza 2 all coming out before xmas

Yeah, I read that "insider" report but it just does not seem too promising. It would be great to have it on the weekend, but I will not be holding my breath.

I read on the xboxyde forums that the big japanese magazine Famitsu gave it 40/40 , only the 7th or 8th game it ever gave full marks

Capcom informs us that the Dead Rising demo is due to go live on Xbox Live Marketplace this morning at 11am BST.

According to a Capcom spokesperson, play is limited to 15 minutes in one section of the mall. We don't know anything else, like file-size, but we thought we'd let you know anyway. We'll update this item will full details just after 11 (when you'll also notice a slight dip in productivity).

Dead Rising is due out in the States on August 8th, and should be with us here in Europe on September 8th. It's Capcom's first big Xbox 360 exclusive, providing you don't count Street Fighter II' Hyper Fighting for Xbox Live Arcade, and if you do then well it's the second isn't it you silly person.

Its a good laugh plenty of zombies to kill. as kensutz said theres about 15 min of play. but when you enter new areas it goes into a cut scene then finishes the demo.

I think he means that it's good fun even though it only lasts 15 minutes and not that after 15 minutes you get bored. Obviously not too bad since he has played through it at least 4 times .

Yeah I meant plenty to do in the 15 mins. Don't mind me, finished working nights at 6 and back up at 9 this morning so I'm sleep deprived. Not that I'm complaining

I was wondering if they would keep the gore in for the demo; looks like they have as it is unavailable in Germany, Australia, Mexico, Asia and one or two other regions.

Sweet! killing the zombies with so few weapons gets boring fast, but the story seems really cool, seen two videos... alot of resi4 vibes going on, the full game should be great!!

One of the previews I watched on youtube (think it's this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCmvbU8nfIM) makes a passing comment about State of Emergency. It is the one game that DR looks like it could be compared to, which was putting me off, but if there's more of a "Resi4 vibe" going on, then that's better.

This is such a great demo, i love hitting the zombies with golf balls!!!!

or shooting them in the knee caps and watching them fall down the stairs!

Ok I just played... And I'm not seeing it.

Face zombie, press x, face next zombie, press x, face next zombie press x.

Each time seeing exactly the same animation, whether its the hammer coming down on their head or the sickle pulling it off or the shotgun just firing.

Get bored of that, run off, find a cash register, face zombie, press x, see another animation but this time slower play. Same goes for boxes. I picked up a zombies arm as a weapon which I thought was cool, only to have it disappear after i used it once.

State of Emergency had more fluid gameplay! What am I missing? Is there a button other than x that does something?

it would be nice if you could vary your attacks a little bit

but i loved going into the toy shop and putting that big lego head over my head and then picking up others and putting them on the heads of zombies and then taking embaressing photos of them

{anyone know how to turn off sticky keys?}

the gameplay is so much fun but if thats all there is to it then i can imagine it will get boring very fast and may well be another state of emergency.. i hope there is some sort of a storyline that involves more than just slashing 1000s of zombies to death in the same manner all the way thru the game

I think the gameplay is a lot of fun also there are some hints that there is a bigger story like if you try to go outside or enter the cinema.

the weapons are fun, and that you can use almost anything even like CDs, Gems, pot plants.

What i loved was putting the frying pan on the stove then using it to burn the faces off the zombies, its genious. ( ok maybe im getting too hyped over this)

Or for you health use the blender to make a Pie and Orange juice coctail which makes you untouchable. or if you inot a book store and read one of the books it gives you some other ability.

When you attack with the arm you stuff it in their mouth, then you can take a picture of it for more prestige points.

I dunno, I know a good deal of animations are the same, but I was having a great time just running around, knocking a load of zombies over with the bowling ball, blasting them away with the shotgun etc...

Just light hearted fun. Apparently there are 3+ endings to the game, and you will not see all the parts of the story the first time through.

{EDIT} There seems to be a great deal of polish too, like when you unarmed and you go into manual aim you can spit on the zombies.

Well, I may be in the minority, but after more play of this today, I'm sure that of the two big demos this week Saint's Row is by far my favourite. This game is about as repetitive as they come, there's some nice weapons for interesting set pieces, but when each weapon essentially has one and only one use, over and over and over again, the gameplay just isn't there.
