I recently gave up the gym for an hours swimming everyday ( lane swimming ) just wondering is it overall better to be swimming or going to the gym? BTW i love the swimming and have changed my diet, dont eat anything after 8pn unless im out on a sat ngt or cinema etc im just wondering was it a good decision as im just losing weight and toning myself and heard swimming is a total body workout?

First error is that you do it every day

the most often you should exercise is every second day

Swimming is good for fitness, and toning up. Not the best for burning fat, but if you're tryin to burn fat [as opposed to just weighin less] you're diet is the place t work on

And the whole no food after 8PM thing is stupid. you need to EAT EAT EAT!

Id have to disagree, (if your a sports scientist, then my bad!!) i train 5 days a wk mon - fri rest sat & sun. mon id do weights, tue CV, wed weights, thurs CV, and light weights then friday mixed with CV, bit of a circuit. im losing weight and toning. I am taking berroca to give bit of help and i find that i only eat now when i am proper hungry. i must say that for the 1st couple of wks i found it hard on the body going from doin nout to full on trainin

i got d flu so had 2 stop in between but now my body is used 2 it i feel crap unless i train, its gotten so addictive. now i dont mind gettin up at 6:30 2 go trianing!

    it aint for everybody ;)
