    Hey,

Anyone got any good ways to get ride of muscle soreness after liting heavy. I'm not talking injuries but micro tears from the exercise. I have used Glutamine before but its ok. Any other suggestions. I know that the micro tears are all part and parcel of builing muscle but I find they are preventing me from exercising my whole body to the max

Eg on Monday I train Chest but I'm sore in the area for a few days and too sore to max out on shoulders and triceps late in the week

Vitamin C is a popular choice. Personally I think nothing beats a creatine/glutamine/simple-carb drink taken straight after training (and protein obviously). You can make it up yourself or get a product that already has all that stuff in it.
Also eating alot improves recovery times.

Well I'm going to take the oppertuntiy to pimip my self here :D - try TCM. Arnold used it during the Olympia's to reduce muscle soreness and promote muscle growth.

There are a number of treatments available.

Apply heat to the area - this can be in the form of a good massage, tiger balm or deep heat. Heat imporves viscosity and blood flow, increasing muscle size and stimulation, and also imporves recovery. You can also do this through ingestion of ginger tea.

Personally I use direct needling of the affected muscle belly and eletrical stimuation - just like Arnie. That requires the use of an accupuncturist. If you want to know more Pm me. ;)

I find arnica great for muscle soreness, the tiny pills not the cream, go for the 30c potency.
