Quickfire weightloss

Right, hello. I'm just looking for some advice on a short term plan to improve my physique. I'm 19/m/6'0''/12 stone, and am going on holiday in a month. I'd just like some advice as to the most effective (but reasonably healthy) way to lose a good bit of weight and maybe gain a bit of muscle in such a short time. My diet is pretty horrible, as is my alcohol intake, but fortunately a lack of money should sort that out. I can't afford to join a gym or buy any equipment for the timebeing, so I could well be out of luck.

Despite my comically unhealthy lifestyle, I've somehow remained reasonably fit (well, to the extent that I can go for a decent run) and I live near a beach so swimming is an option. I know it's difficult to give advice to someone you don't know, but if anyone has any suggestions/vague programmes for dieting and exercise I would greatly appreciate it.

In return I'll commit to living a healthier lifestyle after my holiday :)

I may be wrong but if your 6foot and 12 stone then you dont really need to lose weight. i'm 5f 9 and am 12 stone, wouldnt call myself toned or anythin but I aint fat. ya prob just need to get fit.

I wouldn't call myself fat, but I definitely do have excess fat around my body. Maybe it is just a case of getting fit, but I should add that - apart from my legs for some reason - I basically have no muscle, so any excess on my weight is basically fat. I have a bit of a belly and some 'flab' on most parts of me. It's actually for that reason that I ask for advice, in theory a little weight loss should go a long way in relation to improving physical appearance. So while technically my height/weight ratio is pretty good I reckon my percentage of body fat is quite bad.

    1) Read the stickies at the top of the page
    2) Cut out the booze
    3) Stop eating crap, starting eating 5 small meals a day made up of protein, carbs, healthy fats and loads of fruit and veg
    4) Exercise, often and hard.
