When I joined there was no joining fee but the monthly payments were €66.

No way worth it for that gym. The showers are totally disgusting, the tiles are all black and mouldy and the shower itself?? useless!! you would be lucky to get a trickle of water out of it and you will be scalded. The general smell in the changing rooms is quite disgusting too.
You have to cue for all the machines from 5 onwards.

I found the staff there ok but the facilities are crap for the amount they ask.

I HATED IT but In fairness thats just my opinion...

Why not try Northwood gym in Santry, its not far from Swords and has all new equipement and facilities.

There's always special offers of no joining fee and they are offering existing members a yearly fee of €495. The monthly fee seems to vary between €60 and €66 (based on me & my friends). Tried 2 other Jackie Skelly gyms and they're all as filthy or worse than Swords.

How can they get away with those filthy showers and changing rooms??

Its really off-putting. Especially first thing in the morning, you would expect it to be clean but its the opposite. Smelly, dirty, rubbish and tissues all over the place. Eugh

the only reason im in jackie skelly's is the location, i work right beside the one on clarendon st.

There are not a lot of weights and the area is tiny, I'm not even big into weights but im not a fan of standing around waiting, cardio is basic but it does the trick, the changing rooms are not roomy and it's not the cleanest! But it makes so much money it's scary!

Myself and some of my friends have complained in person and in writing about the state of the gym but despite claims that they're improving the cleaning schedule etc, nothing has changed unfortunately.

Do they have a full time cleaner?

I go to Liffey Valley fitness centre and its almost always clean. Nearly everytime that Ive gone there seems to be a cleaner there. I guess they must have a full-time cleaner.

Its worth the yearly fee. I think its 480 euro.

I'm a member of Jackie Skelly in Greystones. They've opened not that long time ago, so it's alright so far. They have full time cleaner in changing rooms/swimming pool. I have no complain about cleanliness there. But upstairs - cardio and weights area - you can see empty bottles of drinks laying there for 2-3days, dust/dirt everywhere. In very beginning they had some chinese fella hoovering around all day, but now he cannot be seen anymore. Looks like cleanliness is common problem with Jakies. Btw, I've paid 45euro for membership fee and now paying 63eur monthly.

They seem to have a few full time cleaners but they're obviously not good enough.
