I'm fed up with the US. Too much bull**** going on over here. George Washington is more than likely spinning in his grave right now.

Ask me anything, nothing is off limits and i'm bored

Depends were you are.. Seatle gets a lot more rain than we do... So if you go there... head for Arizona or Nevada... If you feel something wet hit you there then chances are someone spit on you :D

if you've ever experienced 95 degrees and 99% humidity you would know what hell probably feels like.

that's a bit of a misconception. my wife is from seattle (see attached for a pic) and although it's really depressing there, it doesn't rain per se. It's more like constant drizzle/mist. On the other hand, in philly last week we got 5 inches of rain over a 3 day timespan

    1. Does it bother Americans that the rest of the world does not consider most of them to be very bright?

    2. Why do many Americans feel the need to shout "taxi" when hailing a taxi? Why not politely raise a hand like everyone else.

    3. Why do many Americans feel the need to introduce themselves and shake your hand when it is totally unnecessary and you are unlikely ever to meet again, (eg. in a ATM queue).

(A bit stereotypical but you did say ask anything!) :D

I have no idea. I've been to England, Bermuda, Spain, France....nothing else has the allure to me like Ireland does. The culture, the heritage, the same views on life (work to live, not vice versa). We were only there for a week earlier this year and I instantly knew that i wanted to live there

Good, you didn't answer it with "to trace my grandaddy who lived in Caunty Tipparary". You are okay with me so. :)

stereotypes are fine by me :o

    1. Most americans are dumber than dogsh!t. I like to think of myself as faily intelligent, that's why i'm trying to flee

    2. You're watching too many movies. Most americans despise new york city, and the only time people hail taxis like that is in movies taking place in NYC

    3. Most americans in big cities are pretty impolite and non-personal. You might have just met an overly- friendly person intrigued by your accent

The film "The Madness of King George" was supposed to be titled "The Madness of King george III" but it had to be changed for the US market as most Americans would think they missed the first two. :)

I saw two Americans doing it last week in Dublin - that's why I thought of it.

Question: What is the general perception that the average American would have of Ireland? On average, would we be thought of as a good county to live in due to our economic strength or are we still viewed as a poor country by some Americans?
