    Hello Good Citizens,

I was just wondering if people could make suggestions for simple low carb recipies for foods. I borrowed an Atkins diet recipie book off a friend but all the stuff seems to be time intensive to prepare. Im looking for stuff I can prepare in under 15mins which at the moment is only Salad and soups from a carton :p

As an aside does anyone have any suggestions for salad dressings, I love ceasar salad dressing but it can get old very easily.

    Dave

    an oldie.

    1 - 2 heads of brocolli
    Water - 1pt aprox
    Salt
Cashel blue or another tasty blue - not the cheap burnt rubber tasting blue cheese.

This is so easy its criminal.
Boil the water. Put in the brocolli and salt. Boil rapidly till cooked - aprox 5 7 mins. Biltz witht eh blue cheese.

no salty stock cubes or owt like that. Just a big bowl of tasy iron and vitimans.

Its really nice. Im not a huge broccoli fan either. I like the baby broccoli from M&S but that's too expensive for a soup and would be a waste because it doesn't taste too broccoli-illy.

I get boerd eating chicken all the time so heres a recipie for livening it up a bit.

    paprika
    salt
    ground cumin
    cayenne pepper
    dried thyme
    White pepper
    onion powder
    oil.

Same ammount of all spicecs except for the aparike - double that. Make into a paste with oil and smear the chicken and leave overnight to marinade.

My favourite fast food is an omelette & salad. You can make endless variations, I usually sautee some onions, peppers and tomatoes and use that as a filling with a bit of grated cheese. Very tasty and takes less than 10 mins to prepare and cook.

Ill take a look through the South Beach diet tonight and post a few recipies tomorrow.
Theres new salad in M&S - its a green bean mix. I just had some a smy 11 snack and it was tasty as.

I like to stir fry peppers, mushrooms, red onion, snap pea, garli , chilli, ginger, sesame seeds and a drop of fish sauce and soy sauce. Noodles in on top with bean sprouts to finish. simple and you can cut 2 or 3 days worth of veg adn cook the noodles 2 days worth as well.

Blitzing chick peas and garlic with the olive oil and paprika is a great snack dip for raw veg that can be kept in resealable bags in the fridge to prevent sugar storms.

What would be your ideal days food?

Just about to dig in to a baby spinach/rocket salad with hard boiled eggs, red pepper, spring onion and lots of basil pesto.

Get on the BBC web site for food and ideas.

Also a good meal will take time so always cook for the following day e.g. i did chicken stuffed with goats cheese and wrapped in parma ham the other day for dinner and had it for lunch also. All it took about 40mins to cook and prepare
