My new diet

    Ok, after the stress of movin and the Leavin cert i'm finally gettin back into the gym! I do a mix of Cardio and weight training, and i go every second day [1 day of workout = 1 day of rest]

    So, here's what I ate Yesterday, In no particular order:

    Scrambled egg [3 eggs]
    3 fat free yogurts [throughout the day]
    Popcorn [small bag]
    Banana
    2 Turkey sambos [white bread] [throughout d day]
    Orange juice [2 glasses]
    Packet of Softmints
    Dairy Milk [just one! omg, cudnt believe it, i usually have 2 or 3 ]
    Hot chocolate
    Porridge [with 2 tsps of white sugar]
    Strawberries

    Usually I eat a lot of sugary sweet foods, and bread, so im basically cutting down on Sugar and bread, and "fake foods" as the other thread mentioned

    I think one bar would be ok compared t 3, but if i had no chocolate at all, would it make a big difference?

    No offence thats probably the worst diet ever to be posted here!

    What are you trying to achieve in your training.
    Your diet contains a lot of refined processed foods, white bread (throughout the day!! omg), white sugar, sugar in lof fat yogurt, softmints?? (omg!!)
    Sugar in your hot chocolate.

    Are you eating porridge at night?

    You should be dead by now lol, seriously though you need to change that around big time.

    Let us know what you want to achieve

    Jon if that is the worst diet you have seen on this board you are living in a bubble, and you will probably be in for a shock when you open your new shop:D :D

    Anyway abetarrush your diet isn't the best. Some of the things i would change is to get rid of some of the fat free yogurts as most of them contain a lot of sugar also depending on the amount of fats you get in your daily diet don't be afraid of getting some good full fat yogurt into you. Also if the turkey is from a packet you may want to ditch it and put in some chicken breasts in your sambos, and as stated get rid of the white bread.
    Another suggestion would be to get rid of the orange juice and just eat some oranges much better for you and a hell of a lot less sugar. Now you seem to like your sweets but you are going to have to cut back on somethings, you said this was the first day of your new healtier lifestyle yet you had a packet of popcorn, packet of mints and chocolate bar and a hot chocolate. Now i am not saying cut them all out but you should imit what you are eating.
    Also try some raisins or honey in your porridge instead of refined white sugar. Also you may need soem more protein in your diet aswell

    As you said that you are only 12% BF and don't have much def in your abs region you are probably best going on a bulk cycle to try and put on some muscle first. So you are probably going to have to up you food levels quite a bit but try and make them all from good sources so that you don't end up putting on fat. Try smoothies with some oats in them for a good way to get some good calories into you. Oh and then go lift heavy things aswell

    Thats you full days intake? Christ. I nearly have all of that in my breakfast and i am a skinny ****er.(i wouldnt have all that sugary **** though)


    What are you aims? Do you have any interest in weight training any specific goals?

    Sorry, didnt make some things clear

    First of all, the foods arent in a particular order [duno why the hell I grouped them like that]

    When I said "Throughout the day" i didnt mean I had 2 Turkey sambos a few times in the same day, I meant I had 2 total, as in not at the same time

    And the turkey wasn't from a packet

    and that's not wha I eat every day, so how the hell should I be dead?

    i think my body fat is gone up a bit since I last checked. My abs are grand, der just under fat.

    I have a workout program thats good, its just my diet I need to work on, just never asked me trainer abt it

    In general I'd have porridge or else scrambled egg for breakfast

    then a sambo, or salad for lunch

    The for dinner i usually have rice and veg + meat [chicken or beef]

    then something small before bed

    Oh, i take a multivitamin every mornin, and I eat a lot of fruit throughout the day

    My goal is to get my BF down to abt 10%

    And I just want to eat better foods so ill lose some fat, but not starve meself

    and that's not wha I eat every day

    So what do you eat every day? and more importantly what are your training goals.

    Don't be offended by my post I was poking some fun, but it does need adjusting.

    I basically just wana tone up [dont like sayin that cos there was a big rant about the word "tone"]

    I just wana get bigger in general and lose some fat

    I do about 40 mins cardio, and abt 30 mins weight training, then I do Ab work

    At the moment my cardio is aimed towards Fitness, so, i dno wha I should do abt that

    PS Wha should my daily sugar intake be?

    do you only want to get your bf below 10%? Or do you also want to bulk up in muscle?


    Either way you need to be eating ALOT more food. That diet is far too small. Stop eating your food in 3 goes, that will make it harder to lose fat. Start eating at least 6 meals a day.

    Get rid of the white bread with the turkey sandwhiches, use brown instead. If you like peanut butter have that as a snack instead of the popcorn/chocolate bars.

    Get rid of the sugar on your porridge. Drink at least 2 ltrs of water everyday. Whats the small thing you have before bed? Make sure its got plenty of protein and not too much carbs.

    A protein shake with low fat milk is a good thing to have before bed if your hungary(if you take protein shakes aswell)

    edit: just seen you post. IF you want to bulk up you have to whore the carbs into you.

    Get your weight in lbs, then multple it by 2 to get what your daily intake of carbs and protein should be.

    40%-40%-20% is a common diet.(protein-carbs-fat)

    So if you weigh 150lbs you should be looking at nealry 300gs of protein and carbs a day. 250-300 would do.

    With that meal above i doubt your even reaching 150gs a day.

    I'm 154Lbs [i think, converted 70KGs to Pounds]

    Q: Is brown sugar just as bad, or worse than white sugar?

    yea 154 sounds about right for 70kg. You'd want to be eating 250 to 300 so.

    Try this tomorrow, everything you eat check the packet and write the nutrion value of everything you eat down, then add them up and see where you are. Its a handy way to see where you are with it.

    Any reason you dont take protein shakes? There certainly not a nesscity but i have never had a much appetite so its easier to drink something then spoon an extra tin of fish or whatever.

    Not sure o nthe brown sugar thing. I am sure someone else will be able to tell you.

    I read that someone on a protein/carb diet should limit their sugar intake to 40G / day

    Is that about right?

    Also, whats the verdict on Breadsticks [plain] & Custard?

    Is it ok to have 8 glasses of lightly diluted ribena a day? [to get 8 glasses of water]

    my diet is ok, or so I thougt.
    Oat muslie and fruit and yogart for breakfast.
    Lunch a ham sandwhich withflora annd no cheese.
    Dinner .Roast chicken , veg, & stuffing .
    Dessert, two mickado biscuts , a tiny tiny peice of aplle pie and half a spoonfull of fresh cream.
    I think it has to be the wine.
    3/4 a bottle of wine.Thats after I had spent 4 hours walking around the zoo with a three year old and a adhd grumpy teenager???
    Am a size 16...help??
