Could people on this forum meet up for a bash sometime maybe in the bankholiday weekend in augest. I think it would be a good laugh tho it isit exactly convieniet for people living all over the place having to drive a good distance. A venue where its not as far for everyones sake.
    How about it?

Well I think the majority live in Dublin but what about people in Cork and other places far from Dubland? I think most people will be free on the bank holiday weekend unless there going out on the piss:D

Would anyone be intreasted going to an outdoor skatepark,(halfway between Waterford and Kilkenny) biggest in Ireland, lots of ramps and stuff there:)
It would suit monster trucks and buggys.

Not that bad. Thats 60 miles either way, right?
How about people in Dublin, how far is Waterford from there?
I,m just saying Waterford because theres an outdoor skatepark near there and its the best location for everyone.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 476 ✭✭no leaf clover

well..in a straight line on google earth, waterford is about 100!!! tried to use aa route planner...but seemingly waterford is 2 miles on teh r120..so i think they may b "experiencing technical difficulties!!!

    ***edit*** 75 miles to kilkenny,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,248 ✭✭✭Plug

So its 20miles to that skatepark from Kilkenny, so your talking under 100miles:o

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 476 ✭✭no leaf clover

hahahhahah yes...technically!!!! under 100!! and since they dont issue licences out to under 18's im down and out!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,248 ✭✭✭Plug

I don't think this is going to work out:(

You're all able to buy a bus ticket, surely?

Cheaper than petrol and nearly as fast. No problem :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,248 ✭✭✭Plug

By the time you get there and then you have to get the bus back at around 6, so they would only be a few hours of driving.

The curragh would be a great place for a meet. Huge areas to bash around and lots of nice hills and hollows to jump...
Definately worth considering. 45mins from Dub.

    FYI
There are monster truck and buggy guys already bashing in the Curragh.
They are at "The Plains" area.

When are they there? We have been over a few time and haven't seen anyone else.
Where do they bash? The best area is across the road from "Donnelly's Hollow" It's a former Army 4x4 practice area. Massive hills and hollows over an area of a couple of acres.

It's in Co Kildare, between Newbridge and Kildare town. There is a train station in both towns too for those further away.

This pic shows a small bit of the area I'm talking about. :D:D:D

It's not normally that mucky, that's an old pic, the Army don't use it like that anymore. I've used it for some offroading in my 4x4 in the past. But it is a class area for RC's. And the whole curragh is covered in fine short grass, so there is loads of areas for sustained high speed runs.
One place I use is an old military shooting range. It has a hugh earth mound 15ft high as a target backdrop and a big channel about 4ft deep all around. If you climb up on the mound you can race all around it flat out.

I'm telling you lads, the place is perfect for us...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,248 ✭✭✭Plug

I wouldn't have any problem going there, but what date would suit everyone, I think the bank holiday weekend in Augeust sounds good:) I,ll have to get a engine mount first tho:(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,149 ✭✭✭BFassassin

i like the sound of all this but im not sure if i would be able to get to it:( .
you never know though things might change before it happens

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,248 ✭✭✭Plug

How many people could actually make it? I have no problem, tho pretty pointless if only a few people are going.
