Fitness plan

    Hi all,

I'm just looking for a few opinions on this. I'm male, 22 and looking to increase my fitness level and build some upper body muscle (there's more meat on a butcher's pencil than me currently!)

I've been looking at the sticky for basic fitness levels and I've decided on a tentative plan. I just want to know if anyone can tell me if it will work:

First off I'll be training at home. I want to buy a set of weights and lift some using pogressively heavier weights as I go along. I cycle into work every day(but its only a 10 minute trip), so that's a bit of excercise, but I think I should go running as well. I'd lift weights about 4 times a week, run maybe twice a week.

I never eat much, but I should probably try to fill my plate a bit more and eat more steak/pasta etc. as well as drink smooties.

    Could this work?

    Thanks a mil!

    You're obviously looking to bulk,

Post up an example of your current diet?

You'll need a weights programme and a structured diet, you can't expect to see real progress by just eating a bit more pasta and steak,

It takes alot of dedication which means cutting out alcohol, sweets, crisps, junk etc

Aye I want to put on a bit of weight alright.

My current diet isn't the greatest I think:

Breakfast: Lots of Cereal, and probably loads of milk.
Lunch: Usually a chicken and cheese sandwich
Dinner: Varies; Potatoes, Chips or sometime pasta. Meat is usually Chicken fillets or beef (burger/steak). I order in pizza about 3/4 times a month.

I don't eat much in the way of crisps or chocolate at all. Between meals I usually snack on crackers and real butter. I eat a fair bit of dairy products in general.

Would it be possible to get consultation in a gym on a weights programme and improving my diet without joining it d'ya know? I don't currently have the cash to join a gym. I might in a few months.

Watch this especially. Most people who claim to be hard-gainers are just totally underestimating the amount of food they need to grow.
