Setting up Java3D in Ubuntu 5.10

    Hi folks,
Looking to install Java3D on my Ubuntu system... not much success... I've searched for Java in Synaptic and installed pretty much anything that mentions the word java...

I've also installed a Java3D .bin file with the 1.3.1 sdk.

I don't seem to have a "javac" command which is what I always used under Windows...

Can anyone talk me through installing a Java compiler and Java3D under Ubuntu?

    Cheers

Google "automatix". It's one of the install options in that tool. The option you're looking for is the JDK. I think J3D comes with the standard 1.5 install.

:( Installed Automatix but it's saying the packages can't be found for the JRE or SDK installations (no option for the JDK...)
