Movies that you watched and want your 2 hours back!

How many people have sat through an entire film and at the end realized that the film was the biggest waste of time ever!!

I am not talking about silly or stupid films but movies where you actually wanted to write to the studio and ask for your 2 hours of your life back.

That was how I felt at the end of Hannibal. I felt at the end I was exactly back at the beginning and had gone no where.

9 Songs??? Glorified Porn...if I wanted to watch porn I would get "Lord of the Cock Rings"!

But the worst was Disco Pigs! Because of this film I will not watch movies that my husband picks out!

    So which ones are yours?

Wolf Creek. Thought it was purest tripe.

Last night I tried watching "Alone in the dark" only got a half hour into it before I turned it off again.

In fairness, you can't boycott Woody Allen just because of this. Granted, Match Point sucked more than words can describe, but to rob yourself of Anni Hall or The Sleeper would be a crime!!!

I'd have to put Brokeback Mountain on this list. I just...I just don't have the strength to bitch anymore about this bloody film. :(

for me it would have to be Munich, what a load of crap! I remember give a friend a review of it which went something along the lines of "It's long, realy long, just long, too long..."etc.

open water - 'based on a true story' .... how the f*ck does any one know what happened, the only people there are dead (maybe) and they never found a body... !!! sooo bad, i seen it over a year ago and i still think about things i could have been doing instead

    'F*ck off with yerself, boy!'

    'You're my life, runt!'

Ah.. it's a great little film.

Match Point is brilliant too.. what's wrong with you people...?

21 Grams was certainly pretty pointless though... I hate when directors mess around with the chronology of the scenes for no reason whatsoever... it made sense to do it in Memento, not here!

Oh.. and that 21 gram thing is nonsense anyway, so basing a film on a made up fact is just silly.

Chocolat, watched it years ago because it was on tv and I had nothing better to do. The only time I think I can ever remember hating a movie so much as to want to seek out its makers and kill them.

Oh.. I'll have to mention another Sean Penn film called the Assination of Richard Nickson, the trailers made it look really interesting.. but the film itself was horribly boring and drawn out.

Kill Bill was an incredibly annoying film too... it's lack of internal logic and it's hodge podge of stolen ideas really pissed me off.

I liked it because I've been to that little town and through that big tunnel... so every few minutes I got to point excitedly at the screen and scream 'I've been there!!!!'

I do the same thing with the Heineken advert.

Couldn't tell you much else about the film though... it stared Julia Roberts and Brad Pitt, so most likely it was rubbish.

That nixon one was based on a non-jazzed up true story as far as I remember, open water was good I thought - yep fictionalised but why not - and some of it was very creepy/scary imo. Wolf creek I also thought was not the worst movie I have ever seen - that honour goes to 'Be Cool' how that piece of **** ever got made is beyond me. Lots of movie Producers & studio people on drugs is the only explanation. I cant even remember if I made it to the end of it - it was that bad.

The last one I saw was X-men 3 in the cinema. I knew going in it probably wasen't the greatest but I liked the first one and it didn't have a bad squel either so why not I thought. Pile of S**t, I can't believe that in the 21st century things in Hollywood are still the same. You could almost predict every line the dialogue was so bad.

Moulin Rouge. Can't actually ask for two hours back as I only watched about 40 odd minutes of it. Going to mass would have been time better spent.

The Rock. Interest is owed on that one.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

    Scary Movie 4.

Would never walk out of a film halfway through though.

Well as some people have said, Date Movie is officially the worst movie of all time. Open Water was a pile of poo as well.

I would like to add the Blair Witch Project to this list. What pure rubbish. Sure ill just bring my camcorder out in the woods and shake it around and throw it up into the air a few times and hey I have a movie to rival it. What rubbish.

Napolean Dynamite..Better not to get me started on that rubbish

Mission Impossible 2 - I remember thinking how upset i would be if the cinema exploded and that was how i spent the last hours of my life. I got fairly depressed watching it after that.

The Village - I hate everyone assocaited with it, including everyone who liked it. Burn in hell, smartass.

X-Men 3, I was hoping for early deaths all round, so I could go home.

hey, I loved the Rock :D

    Open Water
    Man Of The House

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 132 ✭✭trillianv

Oh I forgot...The Producers....I turned it off after 45 minutes. I wanted to kill Mathew Broderick and Nathan Lane. I was cringing everytime one of them opened their mouths. I tried to stay watching to see if Will Ferrell could do anything for it...but I was really let down there.

DONT WATCH IT!!! You will want your time back!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,921 ✭✭✭✭Pigman II

    "Ran"
    I wish I had

    "Million Dollar Hotel"
It would take at least that much to get me to rewatch it

    "Lost in Translation"
    but shít in any language

    "Mulholland Dr."
I presume the Dr. is short for Dross?

Revolver, the only movie I would ever have walked out on. Guy Ritchie should be shot... with Madonna.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,199 ✭✭✭Jimi-Spandex

    Chicago - I lasted 34 mins.

House of Flying Daggers - That bloody ending.

Autumn in New York - Granted it was unlikely that I was going to enjoy this movie anyway, but just garbage.

Alexander - It looked like there could have been a good movie in there somewhere if they'd edited it properly. Just frustrating.

Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children - The only people i can see enjoying this are 14-20 yr old fanboys who spend all their time on gamefaqs.com and live off a diet of Jolt cola and pixie stix. But did I really expect anything different?

Because I just ranted about this on a previous thread just now all I'll say is three words:

    The DaVinci Code

If it was because it wasn't that great of a movie...ok fair enough but if it was because it wasn't like the book....not sure I agree.

I look at book/comic book/video game adaptations as entire separate entities. You have to go in and say this looks like an interesting movie....not I wonder if they got every line of text exactly the same??? I wouldn't be able to live with the disappointment every time if I didn't.

most book/comic/game adaptations suck because they just don't have the vision or budget behind them (specifically vision, because writers/directors try to lift everything out of the source without any consideration for the fact that they're transferring to a new medium). this is particularly evident with game adaptations.

however, for all the bad adaptations, we've been blessed with 1 saviour that makes films worth watching. fight club :D

edit: just noticed your sig... that's a bit odd

I have seen alot of truly terrible films. I have a particular love for B-Movies and as a result I have seen movies that'd leave you feeling despressed they were so bad.

But none come remotely close to the hideous abomination that is "Deuce Bigalow: European Gigalo".

    Worst. Film. EVER. -1,000,000/10.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,036 ✭✭✭garred

Don't Look Now - fell asleep after 30 mins watching it the first time, put this down to tiredness. After watching it fully I'll put it down to boredom.

Supersize Me - do a documentary on the worlds most famous take away (publicity). Eat only their food 3 times a day and see how my health goes (gobsh1te, how did you think it would go). I've said it before this guy should of been beaten to an inch of his life and then thrown into a crocodile pit. I'd pay money to see that.

Freddy v Jason - Krueger lost his "scare appeal" after the first NOES. He became someone you would go on the beer with which is wrong for a horror icon.

Omen 4 - why did they do this and make the anti-christ a girl, women's lib?

Most of Stephen King's novels/movies especially: The Dark Half, The Langoliers, The Night Flier, Rose Red, Sometimes they come back 2&3.

There are plenty more but can't think at the mo.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,930 ✭✭✭✭TerrorFirmer

Oh god the Langoliers.....thanks for reminding me Garred. Classic book, crappy film. Special effects looked like a ten year old constructed them in MS paint. Or rather, half constructed them, and then went off for a nap.

    Such a bad film.

    Napolean Dynamite
    Punch Drunk Love
Speed 2: Cruise Control (I should of known from the name)

Identity (John Cusack what possessed ya ? )
    Exorcist 2

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 556 ✭✭✭JimmySmith

Napolean Dynamite and Donnie Darko x 2.
I dont know which one was worse. Donnie Darko owes me 2 times because i watched it a second time thinkig i must have missed something. I didnt and it was still muck.

    the Assination of Richard Nickson

    Hmmm...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27 chigli

Dogsville - I was mad I didn't have the Australian version because it was 1/2 hour shorter than the 3 hrs I was made sit through!

And of course: Mr & Mrs Smith (Pitt & Jolie) - what tripe, I only watched it to the end in the hope that they were going to be brutally slain

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 966 ✭✭✭GerryRyan

Freddy got Fingered - is possibly the worst film I've ever had to sit through.

That and 'My Little Eye'. The concept behind it was original, but I hated the film.
