One arm weaker than the other

I have noticed when I am doing bicep curls that my left arm is alot weaker than my right arm. When my left arm is maxed out to failure, I feel that I can keep going with my right arm. I feel like I could lift heavier with my right arm but dont know if I should push ahead with this, leaving the other arm considerably weaker. What should I do in this situation?

For me it would depend on your level of training - if you're starting out then I'd just work each arm to it's potential and wait for things to even out (as the imbalance is probably due to your being right/left handed and having used one arm for most tasks up until now - after a while your strength due to training will overshadow that starting strength, and your stronger arm may plateau first allowing the weaker arm to catch up).

However if it starts to bother you, try and even up the volume of work for each arm. For example, if you do 10 reps with your left arm and 8 with your right, then give your right arm a break for a few seconds and then go back and do another 2 reps.

Just keep training basically, and things will work themselves out.

I notice this too, I think I unintentionally lift more with the right arm when working with a barbell. Now I am using dumbells more. I start with the left, and then go for the right afterwards with a very short break. Means I can just about manage the same amount with the right since I am tired.

t-ha's advice sounds good. I was thinking of doing and extra set with the one arm but didnt want to overtrain. Perhaps doing no sets with the strong arm at all?

I had this problem too. You need to start **** more with your left arm. This problem should be solved within 2 months if you masturbate furiously for 3 times/day religiously. No need to thank me, just doin my job.
