    Honestly?

I don't think it could be more emo.

Good thing opinions like that are subjective eh?

    From a design pov:

Cut and paste picture of a hot girl (from another wallpaper?), blur the edge onto a black background, type some text, do a rough magic-wand select of a divider from somewhere else and paste.

I'd recommend that you make use of some of the resources listed here, give special attention to "stock images", look for high quality, clear images with no tattery leftovers hanging around.

Try to emphasise aspects of your wallpaper rather than blurring out parts that don't look good; if they don't look good, don't put them in there :)

Your sig is more promising though, nice use of colour, clear and precise.

The non bold text is too thin. The floral thingy that seperates the text is too rugged. The girl seems to be mostly the same shade of pink on some parts and it doesn't look right. Also it is very emo as Cult has said :)

Emo is a word I would try to avoid. It carries to many connotations, the work is trying to be dark but in honesty I don’t think you have gone far enough.

Many people are afraid of pure black and losing detail at the sake of clarity, I personally like the background (as in the hair) as it has strong contrast between the red and the black, you lose this feel however with the image of the girl as she is multi-tonal while trying to be black and red. She needs to be two toned (similar to the background but with greater sharpness and clarity) or completely coloured (this would require a very suitable stock image).

The text regardless of what it says should be clearer, its not that it is impossible to read its just that it chore to distinguish (ie. too thin). The flowers in the text need to be a higher resolution too. I think perhaps that a strand of hair might be a more suitable horizontal rule too (look into custom brushes for Photoshop? to find the best way to do this).

Overall I think the layout works in terms of object placement, perhaps make the text smaller and reconsider colour and black.

    Not bad.

By the way your sig is too big. Have a quick read of the rules.
