Resources

It's really about time I made a proper resources thread, the older one has many outdated links, and not enough info.
So, here we are, resources:

Common Image Editing Programs
Adobe® Photoshop®
Jasc Paint Shop Pro
Corel
the Gimp (Free)
Fireworks
Flash

Three Dimensional
www.blender3d.org

Tutorial Sites
Good Tutorials
Pixel2Life

Generally Useful
http://colorblender.com

Image Resources
stock.xchng
Google Images
DaFont (Font Resource)
http://www.acidfonts.com
http://www.identifont.com
Worth 1000
Imageafter - Images & Textures
Stockvault - Stock Images
deviantART - All Sorts of Images and Artist Resources

Image Storage
Imageshack - free, no strings image hosting.

If anyone has anything they think should be added to this list, post it here and I'll update the list in due course.

billstraighten: tbh, that list is so bad you may as well not have posted anything at all. I mean, really, can you not spend the time and effort to post a set of links that are actually usefulll? Perhaps categorise them and include descriptions?

At any rate, I don't have many right now, but at least I can verify they're useful. There's more scattered around my different machines; hopefully I can locate more

Stock Photos
http://photocase.com - Mostly german site, but you can get by with just English You sign up for an account and get three free downloads every day. If you don't use them in 24 hours, you lose them. For the most part, very high quality photos.

http://morguefile.com/ - Nice photo site, but the part I like is the classroom

http://pixelperfectdigital.com/ - undergoing a redesign currently, but you can still grab images. Decent selection, but mostly abstract photos.

http://www.openphoto.net/ - An ok site, not as high quality as some of the others, but highly classified by section.

Color Schemer Gallery - very handy site with predefined color schemes. Nicely tagged so you can pick from something in real life, say iPods, and get their related scheme.

Painting:

- MSPAINT

- Corel Painter (IX) - quite possibly the most powerful Natural-Media software out there.

- ArtRage (2) - Wonderful UI, and FUN! Free version available & the full version is a mere $19.95US

- TuxPaint- GPL (Free!) Painting app. aimed specifically at younger computer users.

It goes without saying that each can be used with a mouse, but for full benefits a graphics tablet is desirable
