Ubanning Rooferpete

I want to see rooferpete unbanned , to explain his side of the story. All I see here today is avoiding the straight foreward questions. Why cant Rooferpete be allowed his right of reply

Who here wants to see this man unbanned for airing his personal opinions. This guy is probably the most knowledable person here in Ireland about all aspects of roofing and many other areas about trades in general.

He really deserves to be unbanned to have a right to express his side of the story! Everyone deserves the right to that!

I beleive that If I bring it to feedback that 99% of people there wont have a clue as to whats going on and why I would like him unbanned.

Also the mods have said what they said and they dont appear to want give rooferpete the right to a fair trial and give his side of the story to all us out here but I could also be wrong...

Its a privately owned site, not a public site, so no-one really has the right to a fair trial or any trial.

He was threatening boards with legal action. That sounds fairly serious.

i doubt he meant it, he was probably just upset the way it degenerated. he should be unbanned and explain his actions. hes done enough to deserve a second chance.

Ya it is fairly serious! I wouldn't like to see any legal being bought agains boards. God I'v spent so many countless hours here and it would be a shame to see that happen.

rooferpete surely must be allowed the right to express his side of the story! I by all means meant rooferpete sitting in front of a judge and jury to plede his side! Sorry if that's how I came across!

If it were a private site then it would be invite only(like some sections of the public forum). It's considered a public forum because any member of the public can join.

And I don't think this IS feedback. This post is specific to this forum and is not giving feedback, if anything the people are looking for Feedback.. from Rooferpete!!!

rooferPete will not be unbanned.

If he wishes to state his case he can do so in the Prison forum, I gave him access to it.

Kind of a catch22 there with those two sentences really isn't it? Just like the Catch22 we have with rooferPete here: he stays and then he puts legal action onto boards and threatens its existance.

I want to know why he was banned , and so do a lot of other posters.

From the poll numbers I would imagine that 80..yes 80 other people feel the same . Are they entitled to an answer to this appalling situation.

We need to get this sorted now .

I remember Rooferpete posting a thread about *Defrauding* I think it has been deleted. I think he was standing his ground,rats cant really remember much about it because I flicked through it.

It is privately owned. That is all.

The public do not need to be concerned why he was banned, he was and that's it. It is not the job of the site admins and moderators to unban people to plead their cases, and to try and understand the reasons they did what they did - its not a support group, its a forum.

He did something wrong, he was banned, if he is unbanned, he may threaten legal action again, and put boards.ie at risk.

I'm not going to believe it until I see proof from some mod or him! Prision break me ass! How many people here even know of it? It's practicaly none existant.. I have never stood foot in there and tonight is the first time I have heard of it!

Why not unban him? Would you Gordon like to be sitebanned and not allowed to give you side of the story or tell if the mods rumour is fact or fiction? I seriously doubt you would like that!

To be honest with you Gordon ye mods are out of line to ban him like this! The biggest reason I say this is that ye have not come up with one single bit of evidence to prove the threat of legal action that ye say rooferpete has threatened?

No offence Mad m but THIS is exactly why he should be allowed to state his case where he most frequently posts. When things are implied and left to peoples imaginations then there's no end to what may come of it.

Well in Fairness Galwaydude if it was done through PM then they can't really print it, as PM stands for PRIVATE message. And it would probably be some kind of breech of Privacy(which they probably could be sued for!) but to leave it so open can't be good either!

And feel free to ring rooferPete, but it won't get him unbanned. He can plead his case in Prison.

Feel free to tell me that my gut feeling is wrong about you.

If you were provided with the evidence that rooferPete wished legal action on boards - how would you answer to that?

well what use is gut feeling if you cant come up with 110% proof that I would still want him back? I would answer it when I see the oth proof! Until then I cant and wont give you an answer to that question!

I see, so you're avoiding the question by not answering it. Fair enough, I wasn't trying to force you to answer me. To be honest, your opinion on this doesn't matter to me personally as rooferPete is banned and the case is closed in my eyes.

People have been unbanned from a siteban Debra, it's rare but it has happened.

Thus far the Cat mod Whitewashman and Gordon the smod are in agreeance with the actions of Delly and when things escalted it was the smod that made the site ban.

If you want to take this matter further then do so in the correct place to get the site admins ( the owners of this site ) to review the site and forum ban.
That place would be the feedback forum there is a thread there on this matter already.

it's nothing to do with PR...your opinion doesn't count for anything. This is a private site upon which the owners allow you to post....they've delegated to the supermods to make sure none of the posters gets the site in trouble.

rooferPete was sitebanned for threatening legal action on this website. To be honest, I think I'm actually trying to protect the public that frequent boards. Call me crazy, but that's the way I see it.

all i'm trying to do is tell you this.

My opinion is i don't give two flying ****s about roofer pete or whether he was a good poster or not but if he threatens the existence of this site then he can go **** himself....again this opinion is my own and counts for nought.

If someone came in to your house and demanded you changed your wallpaper would you do it? Would you value their opinion and give in to their demands?

Gordon, I can't imagine banning someone for saying something out of frustration would encourage them NOT to sue boards! If anything it would exacerbate their frustration with the system and encourage them to take things further!

Now that's just my opinion.. ya know.. the one that doesn't count??

Because there is a process for handling these things when they happen and that is it is disscused and dealt with in the feedback forum where the site owners
will read that thread and not this one and review the matter.

Here is it is off topic and the mod and cat mod would be well with in thier rights
to close both the current threads and send them to the recycle bin and they don't have a place in this forum under it's charter.

When it boils down to it yes as they own the site but they are for the most part generous and fair minded people.
