    geog: 80
    physics: 70

    ha, im so boring.
    i predict basically a b2 in everything.
    i'll prob do slightly better in a few, but dont wanna jinx myself. im so negative.
    lets just say, 465 worst case scenario. i think...

    English - 100
    Maths - 100
    French - 100
    Business - 100
    Physics - 100
    Engineering - 60

    total: 560

    :rolleyes: Trying to predict points is no more than a silly game imo

    Chemistry - 100
    Biology - 100
    Construction - 100
    Geography - 100
    Physics - 90
    French - 90

    total: 580

    And all it took was an extra year of my short life :rolleyes:

    English - 70
    Art - 70
    Geography - 65
    Business - 65
    Biology - 60
    German - 45

    375

    That's me being very optimistic indeed. :D I just hope I pass German, it'd be a absolute nightmare if I didn't. Funny thing is, is that despite my optimisim I still need another magical 25 points for my course. It also might even go up knowing my luck. :) If I miraculously fail a subject like Business or Biology I'll be counting in my pass Irish which will only give me about 30 points.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 348 ✭✭nedward

    English:80-100
    Irish:90
    Forget Maths.
    French:100
    Geography:100
    Physics:100 :-)
    Chemistry:90

    Between 560 and 580. Most likely 570.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,203 ✭✭✭Attractive Nun

    Applied Maths: Still to do
    Business: 100
    English: 100
    French: 80
    History: 90
    Irish: 65
    Maths: 80

    Total: 515. Which would be a disaster. A nice 100 in Applied Maths (hardly guaranteed) would bring me to 550, which would be the bare minumum I need. Meh, guessing is just that really, guessing.

    Music = a1 = 100pts
    English = a1 = 100pts
    French = c3 = 60pts
    Geography = b2 = 80
    Economics = c3 = 60pts
    Irish = d1 = 55

    455pts

    Realistically speaking an a2 in music and english is probably a given, so say
    435-455pts

    Maths: 80
    Physics: 100

    predicting does no good.. you just don't know what the examiner is really looking for. you could do brilliantly and find out you failed or vice verse. i have my own personal predictions that i wrote out the day after the exam and i think i should get my course (~370, arts maynooth) but if i get higher i'll be quite pleased.

    I guess you've never heard of a scientific subject where there is only one right answer and you can be pretty sure whether you got it right or not then?

    I did it and it's just really hard to develop the points enough for what they want! Fair play to ya!
    Anyway, my predictions.....
    Economics = 80
    Applied Maths = ?
    Irish = 100
    English = 80
    Maths = 90
    French=80
    Accounting = 100

    Ah I'm not sure at all! But the questions were lovely and I went into huge detail to give them no way to drop points, which is key ion economics. Of course I'll lose points somewhere, but if I had to guess I'd say I'm about 93-94%. Could well be wrong of course, but if I'm pessimistic I'll just be pissed off until August.
    Like the rest of the country, I'm keeping very quiet in real life about my predictions, just in case I look like a tool in August. But I can always "disappear" from here if I end up failing everything, :D

    Not really. There's a reason those courses have such high points. They generally do lead to the most attractive careers. If you can find stuff you want lower fair play, but both my 2 favourite courses were 550+. And this'll influence the rest of my life remember.

    I'm not particularly stressed, but I would be mighty dissappointed if I missed them both.

    Is that a good or a bad thing? You think we all did sh**e or we all got way more than we're predicting? I'm very sure of my own prediction..hey where do you live? I might just be taking you up on that offer in august and you'll be regretting making it to everyone!!

    i think everyone has a rough prediction in their head.. i dont believe anyone who says they have "absolutely no idea" what they'll get..

    predicting can be accurate, a friend of mine a few years ago guessed every one of his grades right :eek:

    predicitng other peoples is stupid obviously, and i'd also have my doubts about giving myself A1s... but not many people here have that same doubt.. so good luck y'all :D
