Im getting an ipod and Im just wondering what other people run to? I get REALLY boerd on the treadmill so I need something to help me along. Basemenr Jaxx - Remedy - is a long standing favourite of mine cos it scares the hell out of me!
So, do you listen to anything and what are your favourite albums for getting you moving?

    brilliant to run to!!!

Daft Punk, Paul Oakenfold, Dj Shadow, Rob D..

or if you want a ready made mix of good music for running or working out try the Matrix and Blade movie soundtracks.

You can get some hour/2 hour long dance sets on that thread.

I'd recommend some drum and bass sets. Very active and not 4/4 beat so you won't start running in time with the beat, or maybe thats a good thing :).

i love basement jaxx too but it all depends on what type of run i am doing and how far into the run i am....

electric six are great to run too.
dont forget the classics of 80's rock too, always good.
    N.E.R.D & Snoop Dogg

but lately I have been running to the Cardigans and a great band called Anathema!

Dellgirl be careful about what type of iPod you are getting. An iPod shuffle is practically in destructible for running. I'd be wary about a Nano or regular iPod.

Any harddisk ones i.e. all the high capacity ones, have moveable parts which will wear quicker if your running around a lot :)

you can't run to firestarter. i think it has a breakbeat and throws my rhythm off!

Regular iPods are not suitable for running, but Nanos are perfect. They have no moving parts, so they're OK to use.

For music, guitar rock works for me. A good tip is to set up some playlists on your iPod that roughly match the length of your workout. There is nothing worse than a slow song starting while you are doing a fast run with your iPod on shuffle. :)

Amen, my shuffle has been dropped on runs, got soaked on runs, been bounced around like a whore on my runs and is still workin fine.

Cool ! No way :D:D ! somebody else who listens to drum and bass while running. Cool ! I can safely say the only reason I train as much as I do is coz of the ol' d'n'b blaring away in the headphones. I get some strange looks when I bust a dance move when Im out on the road or on the treadmill though :D
