Starting up Hardcore band...

We're looking to start up a Hardcore band. So far, we have a vocalist and a drummer - we're looking for a bass player and a guitarist.

Influences include:

Suicidal Tendencies
Sick of it All
Agnostic Front
Madball

Dammit dude where you have been when we were looking? we been trying to get a punk band going on boards for a while, it's not complete hardcore but there will be some. We still need a singer but got a drummer though. maybe we could all get together and jam

I've been lurking for quite sometime - waiting to pick right moment . To be honest looks like the drummer section has been filled. So I'll have to pass, can't see it working with two drummers. But I hope you find someone....Not enough decent punk bands in Dublin.

Well at first I might jam with both bands and see which I fit in with better if that's cool. Since the bands already share a drummer and possibly a bass player I think if I understand Mud's suggestion correctly, though Joe hasn't said anything yet on this thread, it shouldn't be too big a deal.

EDIT: although I just remembered Baggio(one of them) said there was already a drummer lined up so I don't know who's doing what to be honest. Perhaps the OP could clear up exactly what musicians he still needs?

Depends on your influences I guess. Were leaning towards Hardcore (Old school). The other band seems to be more punk - as in surf. Depends which u prefer.


Hmm... I've amended the title of the thread from Hardcore/Punk to just "Hardcore". I don't want to cause any more confusion with our atheist punk friends.

Ok Lads, enough pussy-footing around this

I am a drummer looking to do hardcore stuff, and Baggio(...) is a vocalist looking to do hardcore stuff. This is the driving force behing this thread.

Now, I replyed to the Athiest Punk thread which now is not strictly an "Athiest Punk" band thing. If anybody from there is interested in doing guitars or bass, post/PM/email, whatever.

Anybody else interested in doing hardcore, let us know.

Right now, its me on the drums, and Baggio(...) on vox

i'm in raheny on the northside at the mo, but i'm moving to walkinstown in about a month. i think we should all arrange to meet up before we have a jam, like a week or two before. just for a few drinks or something.

Hopefully I'll be bringing my guitar and I assume now my amp up on friday. I'll be in kilkenny saturday but I should be back up for sunday evening if that's when we're meeting up.

EDIT: Maybe we should PM Alocholica and Waitingforblogo now too see if either of them want in. My style of guitar playing is mainly rthym/riffs which is pretty much all hardcore requires so I think I could cope on my own if necessary but I wouldn't mind another guitarist at all

i havent been able to get any off of the ground, its the usual tryin to get a drummer is the hardest. any other ones i've jammed with were ****e pop/rock stuff that i just wasnt really interested in.

I know the feeling. I just haven't had anyone to start a band with, that plus being in college and living between dublin and wexford. I'm hoping to get a new flat and to make it my definite "home". So hopefully this band will turn into something good, I'd really like to get something started.

As you said Drummers are really hard to find, so when I saw Mud - I jumped at the chance!

EDIT: There were 2 guys interested in playing guitar before you but we've had no response from them. I think Alcholica definately is off the idea as he posted in another thread in this forum about 20 mins after I pm'd him about this thread which was up top of the forum at that time and the other guy has just not been heard from. So I don't think you have any competition.

As its gonna be hardcore, I dont see much of a lead/rhythm guitar scenario. Possibly a "twin riff" scenario if theres 2 guitarists.
