    Hey guys,

Sorry for starting yet another thread on No-Xplode

I've been on this stuff since around the end of April. And well, it says after 12 weeks use, take at least a 4 week break. Does anyone know why that is? Is it dangerous for you?

It's just that I have been having the best workouts of my life taking this drink...a bit of it is psychological but it's really impressive. I just really enjoy taking it now I guess...

    Any ideas?

dunno about No xplode but you're supposed to cycle creatine. I would have said every 2 months but I could be corrected on this.

The by-product of creatine needs to be flushed from you kidneys or maybe just so your body doesn't build up a tolerance.

Then aagin it could be to do with the NO aspect.

Oh it stands for Nitric Oxide-Xplode, that makes alot more sense, I saw a tub of it in the window of the shop that sells all that sh!t in Dun Laoghaire and i was thinking "No-Xplode?, what the hell, is it meant to stop you exploding or something?", but now i know.

Give it a break for a few weeks or at the very least cut down big time. Each jar should give 40 servings; if you trained every day since mid April, you should be half through your second jar. Apart from giving your kidneys one hell of a beating, you're prob doing alot of other harm also.

No I don't have any authority, I simply read the dosages that the manufacturer recommend.

They'll always give the highest recommended dosage, without putting your body at risk. I'm assuming from your post that you do speak with some authority? What is it; a pharmacology or dietitics degree?

I'll go to the doctor and get a checkup then...and see what the deal is. No-xplode doesn't even have that much creatine in it. Loads of other wild animals out there stack it with Nitrix...rumours are floating around that people who are over 250lbs should only take the full three scoops but i have no idea myself and i take the full 3 scoops, it's an absolutely quality supplement. There really should be more information out there about it though...

Daveirl - you are being disingenious and not adding to the debate.

i'd stand by daveirl on this onw, unless someone comes from a medical background and has studied the effects of certain supplements or can produce medical research to back up their claims they shouldn't be posting on the side effects a supplement may have as it is pure speculation at that point.

So as he is telling somebody not to randomly take for granted what some random punter on an internet forum told him on why he should cycle his supplement (which is the OP's question) i would say that he is adding to the debate

This thread isn't really going anywhere, more turning into a rant.

    In answer to the OP, there's two reasons I can see for taking a break;
1; You body may build up a resistance to the product (in this case No-xplode) and you'd have to start taking more and more
2; There may be a risk of building up excess amounts of certain substance.

Daveirl; There is a potential for kidney damage from taking too much. My father recently had a blood test done, one of the findings was that he had too much creatine in his system, which the doctor told him could damage his kidneys if it wasn't reduced. My father dosen't take any supplement's and he has been warned that he needs to reduce his creatne levels. Creatine is a main ingredient in it.

I've done a bnit of reading on the various substance in no-xplode over teh ast few days, and while most sites suggested there wasn't a great risk, they nearly all pointed out that there had been no long term study into health risks.

I can't find much information on cycling it, but I still stand by what I said, that that OP is taking too much and that it prob should be cycled.

Considering the way the thread is going, I'm not going to post here unless i find a very conclusinve source on information on it.

At the end of teh day we are all adults, it's your decision on how much or how little you take of any substance.

 AFAIK elevated creatanine in the blood indicates the existance of a problem with the kidneys, rather than causing it in someone who is not supplementing.

Disclaimer: Obviously his doctor has already advised him on whatever his specific situation is so I don't want to be alarmist or anything.

my only thing with NO-explode is that if you train with it to often you become to reliant on it,i knocked it on the head a while back to give myself a break from it cause i used it to get through a platau and not to assist over all training.

id say over use would definitly do some sort of damage, its strong stuff,OP your best bet is if your that worried then go to the doc as you have already said.

lets us know how you get on.

Yeah I will. Even though i said i never would depend on it...i kinda am now. It just gives you an almighty kick to training. I don't think I would have been able to go 5/6 days a week without it...i'll go to a doctor next week and report back.
