Some good photos there, it's nice to see shots from that time period.

Just wondering about this graffitti, does anyone know what units were stationed in McKee Bks in the early 20th century or even the late 19th century?.

At least get his name right John Doody, this is a military photo thread not a political one. Bloody Sunday was 36 years ago and there is an ongoing enquiry into the contested circumstances. The Parachute Regiment judges soldiers on their merits, black soldiers were accepted on their ability as soldiers long before other regiments were prepared to accept them, citizens of the Irish republic have also served. Training soldiers for an aggressive combat role and then posting them to deal with hostile civilians was always going to be contentious. Republicans dispise the Paras not because of Bloody Sunday, but because on tours by the Paras they were given no quarter 24/7.

Royal Marines Special Boat Squadron, Afghanistan.

hahahahaha i could laugh at you sometimes.. before correcting someone at least make sure your right yourself... his name was not john doody it was john duddy.....no quarter 24/7 bla bla bla ur hard on for the paras can be seen from space.. im sure shooting inocient civillians is part of the para training alright

    /Edit/

This repost of a previously deleted post has earned an infraction for insubordination.
I'm leaving the post to highlight the futility of such actions.

Here is an old photo from my army days.

It was on the old Ticknock Rifle Range in the mid 80's on a Motor Bike course. The range had not been shot on for some years, back in the late 70's I beleive was the last time used.

Course run jointly by the PA's and Cav.

Does anyone remember the "Q" in the photo, he never went anywhere without his dog.
