Was just about to post about this. Cant wait for it. I love Ensiferum and was sad to not be able to get to BSOA for them and Turisas. This will make up for it. Good to see new festivals like this popping up. Not to bothered about the friday night have seen Primal Fear before, good group but just cant pay for both night, with Guardian at the end of the month.

yeah, it's cool to see more stuff going on, been wanting to see Sodom for near enough 20 years now.......always wanted a triple German assault with Kreator and Destruction, but this will do nicely......and with Tankard in the Voodoo in Oct the end of year is beginning to shape up too....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,519 ✭✭✭Oral Slang

Yeah, should hopefully be a good weekend.
Just hope people support this what with all the other gigs around that time of year - Green Carnation, Blind Guardian, Motorhead, The Unholy Alliance, Maiden etc, etc.
My mates organising it & has put a lot of work into it... Hope it all works out!

I really hope this event goes well for the organisers as it would be great to see this become an annual event for Ireland with such great groups.

i'll finally get a chance to see sodom!!!

but the thing is, i would prefer a festival to be somewhere in a field/park than be indoors. the DOD was great but i couldn't go at the time + the line-up wasn't that great imo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,148 ✭✭✭Ronan|Raven

Tickets for Mysterious Wounds and Blind Guardian turned up today. Cant wait!

I have had Ensiferum's catalogue on continous loop for the last few weeks :)

I cant state enough how much I like this group, seen some of their live performances and they are amazing live.

Are they that good? Been meaning to get some of their stuff since I heard they were playing. I don't think I've ever heard them & as I have to go both nights or i'll be shot, I might as well know some of their stuff!!

Really hope there's a good turnout to this - SlaveToTheSkids has put a lot & effort into organising this. Can't wait to see Primal Fear though, the last time I saw them they were amazing!

This is gonna be one hell of a weekend - metal dj both nights till 2.30am, so no excuses from anyone for leaving to go to Bruxies or Fibbers!

On the Saturday, it starts at 6pm & Sodom aren't due to be hitting the stage until midnight or so.

By the Sunday there'll be some major hangovers!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,148 ✭✭✭Ronan|Raven

this may be a dumb question but anyway. got a friend thats only 17 and long story short if shes not going i prob wont go ether. just wondering what would the chance of her getting in anyway. are the tmbc stricted on age or worst situation using someone elses garda

sry to mods if that was against the rules

From what I've seen, they usually hold underage people back for a while and then let them in anyway. I don't know if I'd bank on them being allowed in for sure though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,630 ✭✭✭gline

any idea on what position enisferum will be in the lineup on saturday?? second last? what time do you reckon they would be on?
i really dont want to see all the bands playing :p so il probably be going late :D

Really depends on the bouncers on the night. If a load of underagers go up together they mightn't get in. If your mate goes in with people that look over age and looking confident (not drunk though), she might get in.

You never can tell.. Wouldn't really advise using someone elses ID though!

So only 1 day left - who's going to this & what nights?

Primed said they have a surprise in store in their set on Friday - if its what I think it is, it should be good!

Can't wait to see Primal Fear - they are amazing live. For anyone that hasn't seen/heard them before, check them out, sound kinda like Judas Priest..

Best. News. Ever. I'm guessing garda id qualifies as id, I know some places don't accept it for some reason or another.

I'd imagine so, ring the music centre if you aren't sure, but be sure to take someones name in case there's a problem with it!

Only a few hours left - can't wait for tonight, should be brilliant!

Anyone that wasn't there last night missed a great night..
Monsters in the Attic weren't bad, from what I watched of them.
Slave Zero & Residual Effect, while they both were really good, would have been more suited to tonights crowd. They seemed to go down well enough though!
Primed were great as usual & Kjetil from GC joining them for one song was the icing on the cake.
Primal Fear were brilliant - thoroughly enjoyed them. They really gave it loads especially considering the meagre turnout. They didn't get off stage til about 1.50, so for anyone expecting to get out of their early, you're in for a shock!!
All in all a really enjoyable night, just wish more people had turned up. Hope you all come out & support it tonight, its gonna be great!

What a night, truely great. Ensiferum were absoleutly amazing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,630 ✭✭✭gline

ensiferum were good but apart from that the show was quite dissapointing, a very bad turnout for a €30 gig... I doubt the show would return with the lack of a decent crowd there

saw old seasons set :( hopefully never again, couldnt hear the guitars and the lead singers voice drowned out the "music"

    left after ensiferum

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,148 ✭✭✭Ronan|Raven

Mass Extinction were also very good, put on a really good set imo.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 96 ✭✭guX

Old Season were absolutely amazing, my favourite band of the night - I must get some stuff by then. Eyesclosed and Seven Sins pissed me off so much. Unfortunately I didn't get to see the end of Ensiferum's set, or Sodom. Wished I could've seen them, but I couldn't get the Night bus.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,148 ✭✭✭Ronan|Raven

Old Season played a great set is right.
