I wouldn't mind seeing that, any chance you could stick it on megaupload or one of them, if it's not too big?

OK I'll shove it up there.

Y2J's WWF debut interupting The Rock :D

Jericho was magic there, I miss that motormouth so much! :(:(

Jesus, that's nearly 8 years old. God I'm getting old. Time flys way too fast. I remember the pop Jericho got, gave me goosebumps!

Just watched it there, it's really good. You caught the emotion and big game feel of WrestleMania really well. I also really liked that there was no actual wrestling at all until the song picked up which worked really well.
And was that the sound bit from Lost at the end? Nice

Thanks, you got what I was trying to do and you also noticed the Lost bit which surprises me. :D

Ah, I'd know that Lost bit anywhere!

I was wondering if there would be a demand for any wrestling themes here? Maybe it could get it's own thread. I've been posting a good bit in the ROH theme request thread, putting up custom mixes and the like. For instance I did a version of Joe's mix he used in Liverpool. Also from watching Raw the other day I thought the tag champs should really come out to this!
I know they're enemies at WrestleMania and all but two separate entrances for the tag champs pisses me off. And I think this sounds pretty cool too.

again nowt to do with pro-wrestling

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,045 ✭✭✭Vince135792003

Er thats a boxing video - nowt to do with wrestling

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,045 ✭✭✭Vince135792003

I really think the video of Mayweather versus De la Hoya I put up should be allowed. You completely missed my point why I put it up.

This fight will out draw everything on ppv this year and will possibly be the biggest ppv of all time.It should be required viewing for every boxing, MMA, pro wrestling promoter or fan who is interested in what draws. Thats why I put it up. Its everything wrestling should try to be and its so simple its complicated.

And I think if people were allowed watch the video they might see that. Or they might think I'm stupid but I think a wrestling/MMA discussion could revolve around it. Thats why I put it up.

Having seen the promo show of the De La Hoya vs Mayweather fight, I'd agree with Vince. It's a classic humble face vs cocky heel match-up and draws a lot of parallels with wrestling. I'm not a fan of boxing by any means, but having seen this build-up I can better understand why more people will be watching it than Wrestlemania

I am a fan of boxing.

But still its a video related to Boxing - not pro wrestling

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,594 ✭✭✭Fozzy

I don't want to argue this too much, but the point is that it is related to wrestling. WWE would love to be able to implement an angle as simple and effective as this one. It's going to draw huge numbers. Humble face vs cocky heel. It works beautifully when done right

You don't get it. Whether that video is about boxing, wrestling, MMA or chess its ultimately about how you promote a contest between two people. And thats why I posted it and hoped it would start a discussion about promoting (what wroks, what doesn't, what wrestling could learn from that video, what can MMa learn etc...)

Otherwise I would have just posted it in the boxing forum and say "Look at this cool video". Again thats not why I posted it.

EDIT: You deleted the Randy Couture video I added too? I thought UFC was fair game now on the wrestling board.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,655 ✭✭✭Ph3n0m

I do get the point you are trying to make, but this is my final say on this:

The video is related to boxing - simple as.

TBH I dont care what it was promoting - it was still related to boxing.

I am not prepared to discuss this ad infinitum.

And you made the point - would you have posted the video if it involved chess - somehow I dont think so.

You may think its harsh - but such is life.

Vince there is nothing stopping you starting a thread using that video as point of discussion in relation to promotion - but the fact is this sticky is not used as discussion, just showcasing videos related to pro-wrestling

Likewise the Coutoure video - the forum says "pro wrestling"

    In fact the charter says

    1. You may link to videos on youtube.com/etc. But please make sure they are relevant to wrestling - and not vaguely related to wrestling (some kid playing with toys, etc)

So I can talk about Randy Couture on the pro-wrestling board (whose fundamentally a greco-roman wrestler) but I can't post a video of him? Does that not seem slightly odd to you?

Sigh - fine post the Couture video - sick to death of this already

I heard about these funny moments courtesy of the Bryan and Vinny show on f4wonline.com and luckily I was able to find them on Youtube. Do you think you might enjoy watching a midget go airborne? Then check this out. It's Kemonito aka Midget Blue Monkey being punted by Ultimo Guerrero. This is worth checking out as Guerrero doesn't hold back:

And if you liked that you might enjoy the follow-up angle where the heels apologise to him. Cue more insanity:

    That little guy rules.

Monito! Haha! When I first started watching CMLL about a year ago, I was almost convinced that he wasn't a real person. They'd never keep the camera on him for long and he looked so weird. He hangs around with Mistico all the time, for those that have heard of Mistico

I love the way he tried to run the ropes at the end of the second video

BWHAAHAAAAAAAHHHAAAAAAAAAAAA!!11!! I'm in tears, easily one of the lolziest things I've seen in wrestling

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,594 ✭✭✭Fozzy

Haha. It's gas when wrestlers have to single out someone for being an idiot. Best case was CM Punk at ROH Unscripted 2!

A video of wrestling mistakes and injuries! Some DAMN sore looking bumps in it!

The worst injury for me is at around the 6.30 mark when Owen Hart (RIP) hit Austin with the inverted piledriver... i'll never forget the look on Owens face when he gets up and realises what happened. I think it was at Summerslam 97... but i could be wrong!! Anyway, enjoy!!

anyone got any favourite video packages for a match or event,i love when they do the buildup to a big match really well, great example would be the recent wrestlemania main event, the music and editing in this is fantastic: http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance/search/wrestlemania%2B23%2Bpart%2B6/video/x1nw8s_wrestlemania-23-part-13

another great one for rock/austin at wrestlemania XIX,just a cool song that really suits the event: http://www.dailymotion.com/relevance/search/wrestlemania%2B19%2Baustin/video/xlz4y_stone-cold-vs-the-rock-wrestlemania

call me crazy but a great promo video makes the hair on my neck stand up,really builds the anticipation for a match

David Sahadi is the king of wrestling video packages. He was with WWE until 2003 and joined TNA a year later. A load of TNA videos can be seen on his website here: http://davidsahadi.com/index.php?option=com_xevideogal&Itemid=34. I had a quick look at some of them, 7 and 9 are pretty good

Sahadi was in charge of all the "Desire" and "Sacrifice" videos for WWE too. Here's one that made me able to put up with Coldplay: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbF_IdCNlnY

    Another great one here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwjSu1W0tmU

And the best one of all in my opinion is the Lonely Road of Faith one which was done just after the Rumble in 2002 I think: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5884zPHEBA

All these videos seem to make the song and the images mean much more than they would on their own
