Okay I'll add a poll with a list of dates for a trip.

Ill leave it as a multiple vote thread to see who can make more than one date and see which one comes out trumps
Its a public vote to see who will be able to make it , who wants to go and when they can go

Actually I'm not sure I'll go to the Galway Races anyway the FF tent is only small like the TD's Ministers and donators and top business people.

Actually I forgot to mention, a certain former bum who used to frequent these parts has registered his interest.

I think there is a lot of interest but the deciding when to go is holding people back. Could maybe those who are already working give an idea of the weekdays or weekends it would be easier to get off like when the place is not busy or somethin and those still looking pick a date out of that to say 'not avaible 1st/2nd whatever' cos if it's said well in advance employers are pretty ok like that. Either that or lets just go in the last date available in August cos if they're not giving you the time off, screw the job, yer back ta college!

I don't mind where or when we go really, prob better for me if it's a weekend but don't know yet, I'm sure I can weasel out of work for a few days:)

if we go for the camping idea theres a few camp sites in connemara that are great (one in particular) which have big rolling dunes, a river and is right beside the sea.

That said im happy with anything (if i can go).

Ah i just think camping with a few beers, cooking own food over a (gas) fire etc rocks. Also the possibilities of nighttime exploring etc, but we'd have to give up all the ol comforts

Bagsy a place in your tent scraggsy. It sounds like that could be pretty good craic actually. I have camping gear from germany last summer....alas no tent cos they made us sleep out in the open, *shudder*. I think we do have one of those camping stoves lying around here somewhere though cos our cooking facilities are all electric so Dad got one for power outs (I woulda got a generator myself but there ya go...). Nightime exploring also sounds fun. I demand that we go!

well where i used to go has a hostel 10mins down the road. I assume there would be one nearby for all you indoor types. You'd just need to walk down there when ya feel sleepy (or sleep under the stars in some sand dune ).

If we do go camping i would suggest we find a good camping site (ie one with plenty of space to go night time exploring opportunities but not smack bang in the middle of nowhere).

Aye, used to love camping when i was young. However camping trips are so often good/bad depending on the campsite.

Umm... I gots a suggestion. There's a hostel in Letterfrack that I stayed in before. It's LIKE camping, plus there's a pub nearby. It's in the middle of nowhere, yet close to clifden, it's out in the countryside, it's a beautiful part of the country, and there were hot girls there last time I was there. The place is basic, but brekkie is provided for those who can stomach eating in the morning, and if people bring their gee-tars we can do face painting and stuff - before you proclaim face painting as sad, it's so much fin when you're drunk. Just be careful of the eyes!
