stretching

After being physically inactive for a few years, I've recently gotten back into football, amongst other things. While it's not a major concern, I was wondering if any of you had any advice. Basically, when I'm doing my warm up stretches, I do the one where you touch your toes. However, I come nowhere near touching them, there's a gap of about 5-6 inches. Everyone else seems to reach them with ease.

Does this say anything about my muscles or does it just differ from person to person? Is there anything I could or should be doing to increase the length of my stretch? I'm a skinny 5'9 in my early twenties if that's of any relevance.

Just do a little stretching everyday and it'll come to you in a month or too, key is to be consistent. also make sure your stretching by moving from the hips not rounding you back.
