Agreed, history/business could well induce suicide.

our exam hall was so hot that my hands were dripping of sweat from writing... i coulda wrote like another 10 pages if i could grip my damn pen and if all these dam ticks didnt keep on going all over my papers! i crushed lots of red ticks on my exam paper , hopefully the examiner will give me some pity lol

    Paper1: 1.5 + 2.5 + 2.5 +1 + 3.5 =11

    Paper 2: 6.5 + 5.5 + 1.5 + 4 = 17.5

so 28.5 apparently...no wonder my hand is aching and I didn't even get paper 1 finished. I did question B in about 2 mins, it's not finished (it was just a page) and it was pretty shocking.

how can you have sexual writing? :p

you mean you write like a girl? :D

girls writing = uniformed, clean, neat, tidy
boys writing= messy, hard to read, babyish

ive got woeful handwriting, just about readable. but they say messy writing is a sign of intelligence ;)

People who write 30+ pages tend to be full of ****. YOu can get an a1 with 12 or 13 pages. My teacher told us and he's an experienced corrector.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 887 ✭✭✭Rockerette

    eeeh, 9 in P1, 13 in P2, so 21 in total?

is 9/10 words per line small?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,109 ✭✭✭ThE_IVIAcIVIAIV

i do an average of 6 or 7 words per line, my writing is normal size

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 474 ✭✭deisedolly

Think I did about 22 pages, who cares anyway? Any idiot can write 30pages of sh*ite, its quality not quantity!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,467 ✭✭✭smemon

it's true 14 pages could get you an A but unlikely.

if youve done the work your going to write as much as possible. if you havn't you'll be found wanting.

it's the acid test of how you perform in relation to everyone else imo.

About 20ish across the two. Those booklets were fooking huge  Were they like that in the Junior Cert?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 130 ✭✭brid_m

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,181 ✭✭✭abercrombie

    i have no idea...i didn't bother counting..as far as i'm concerned, i was finished..i didn't care how many pages i wrote!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,252 ✭✭✭Funkstard

    32 all together - 21 in paper 1!

didn't realise it until the end, 6 pages for my comparative, 1and a bit page for my unseen, 6 pages for my poetry and 7/8 pages for lear it must have been. i was writing on lear until the end so i didn't even get to check back over it..but i did a quick check and counted 21 pages.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 308 ✭✭iggyman

If he studied then he deserves his A1, but some people who write that much, are bull****ters. Remember correctors have tons of exampapers to mark, and trying to find a coherent answer out of that many pages is gonna piss them off.

Haha I wish....I thought everyone did the same...just thinking now, ~4 pages for section A, ~2/3 for section B, 5/6 for the essay, 21 on paper 2 = yeh around the 30 mark.

I was so worried about my handwriting and the timing in paper 2...I just blitzed my comparative as soon as I got in there and that gave me a bit of time. Only did a page and a bit on my unseen though, my Bishop essay was fine, not A1 standard, and my Lear I think was fine but I didn't get to read back over it to see the standard. I just rambled basically until time was up.

EDIT: Oh and Smemon your tip about the masking tape around the biros helped me out more than you will ever know. Probably gave me an extra 15% in the exam, seriously

Just in case there's anyone panicking at the 30+ pages some people have written, I sat the Leaving Cert last year and I only wrote about six or seven pages on each paper and got a B. That was at higher level, so it is possible to get a decent grade having despite writing less than 15 pages in total.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 317 ✭✭EyeDeeOne

    paper one = 7 pages
paper two = 10 pages max
