Mario Kart DS tourney

OK,I have a feeling that this is going to be a long post.

So if you are interseted give your Friend code here(to make it easier)and any comments would be nice.

How long should you think we should leave for people to register thier interest,
3days,5days, a week?Longer?

Also how many people per race.Will there be 3 "racers" and then a fourth person to moniter the race and to note here who wins or would that just get too messy?

I think it will be a table like so;

This is how it stands at the moment but if we get enough people I with randomly shuffle things around.

Also,make sure that you have the other people friend codes!
If your friend code is wrong,tell me,I'll change it.



I'm sure we will be able to scrape together more than 16 people.
So if you want to join,post up your Friend Code and you will be placed up.

I have some free time for a couple of weeks now so I can do most of the work.
Constructive critisim welcome.

PS.Will some of your put a link to this thread on your sig because I'm sure that there are plenty of people who own this game but don't regularly visit this forum.

I don't think we will need anyone to monitor it. We would probably be only playing for gloating rights unless you want to cough up for a prize Love to do it but will be away all of next week.

Your better off asking an admin if it is allowed. Not sure myself. If you don't get a reply I'll ask in the moderator forum for you.

Tourney should be run on a 1v1 basis ~ each player has 1 week to contact and race their oponant via MSN , email or PM !! ~ in the event of a tie , have 1 more race ,(not a whole grand prix ) ~ you cannot race the same track more than once.:D

I think that it would be better with 4 people at a set time(at that time all 4 players search for each other)

It would be better with 4 people playing at the same time but i think it would be too hard to get the 4 people online at the same time.The only way we could do it would be to arrange a time, and even at that people will have disagreements about the time and other people will just forget !

If we cant get anymore people for this tourney , maybe an MPH tournament will attract more people. or maybe an MPH tourney as well as a mk tourney !:cool:

Cant believe you havent got that game yet , Its the best wifi game out there by a mile !! You will get owned the first couple of times you play it , that happens to nearly everyone but eventually youll become good at it !!:cool: you wont be playing mk for a long time when u get MPH !!
Id say an MPH tourney would be a lot more popular but mk could still become popular ,the thread does have 176 views !!

I think the average MK player is intimidated by snaking. I even notice it when I get a few corner boosts together people disconnect on me, it's intimidating if you can't do it because you dont have a chance.

Right so this is how it stands...

And if anyone else wants to join,it's easily done.
maddymcmaddser and quad_red I am still awaiting your Friend codes.
So you have one week to converse with your opponant and then post the results here. ie who won/lost.

If we get no one else Quad_red gets put straight through to the next round and will face either Blub2k4 or maddymcmaddser.




And don't forget to make sure that you have youe opponants friend code.....

Snaking wasn't discussed.Hmmmm I don't know.I can snake but I wont if people don't want me to so.....

BTW Snaking isn't cheating it's just a technique which is hard to perfect and takes alot of practice:p

We'll see what other people say though...

:eek: Snaking must be allowed , snaking is a skill which takes a lot of practice to master , so why should the people who have practiced a lot to master this skill not be allowed to use it ? Wifi is slow enough with snaking so imagine how slow it would be without snaking. Whenever im racing i have to snake , i cant resist it !! :rolleyes:

Much as I dislike snaking and know the result of a race before I race a snaker (I'm gonna lose) I think it should be allowed. I would feel tempted to forfeit without racing if I came up against a snaker though, just to save us both a bit of time, I've better things to be doing than looking at the back of someones car for 20 minutes in the evening.

But I'm playing retrogamer tonight and will update it after that or early tomorrow,promise;)

Any who we have had two more people recently(which is great)so I was thinking of ending this round next Friday so people have loads of time to race.

Well I don't mean to be a big winge but if snaking is allowed then whoever knows how to do it will win, so why don't yourself and spuddie just race each other because no one else will get near you if you snake.

I think you should do a tourney with no snaking allowed.

Why dont you just learn how to snake ? It only takes about a week of practicing it to become decent at it. :cool: Snaking is a skill which all mkds players should aim to master .
