I have yet to find a funny girl. Girls are only funny to other girls. Boys can be funny to both sexes. Boys will say 'oh yea her, shes funny'. They are saying that in a kind of sympathetic way as in 'thats funny for a girl', but if a lad said it it wouldnt be laughed at. Now I dont want anyone saying 'troll' or what have you, I am just stating something that is obvious but never said.

In summary, I love girls but they havent got the ability to be funny to boys. I'd love to be proved wrong.

Females simply dont make stand up comedians, but I know just as many birds who crack me up as lads.

I'm not inviting attack, I just want to know do people agree with me, boys and girls. If you think about it for a minute, you'll find you agree.

well i would have to question ur comic interests. I am not talking little giggles, i'm talking laugh out loud funny, where you could think 'genious'.

Not once did I mention stand-up comedians. These are the rare, token, funny females who gain a fan base of sympathy laughers.

In general Id say guys are definitely funnier. Girls can be funny alright, but not in a stand up kind of way.

Ive met a few girls who can crack me up though, so they definitely exist, Id say its more that the average girl is a lot less funny than the average guy.

Isn't that true both ways tho? I mean there's still a lot of women out there who seem to think its socially required to laugh at every dumb comment a guy makes.

You might be funny but you're not that funny.

Ok so you talk about girls in general, but do not acknowledge that anyone else has funny female friends. We bring up stand ups and you try to shoot that down. And you claim to be funny when no-ne is laughing.

Maybe your problem is that you are oppressing the girls, not giving them a chance to be funny? You seem to be the type alright.

If I am sitting in a room on my own, a guy has the ability to walk in, say something funny and I will burst out laughing. If a girl came in and said something 'funny' I would laugh but it the laughter would not burst out.

yea totally true, loads guys are more funny in quoting, acting out stupid things or doin silly stuff, this is all great craic and not takin away from the fact that its funny, but the ladies are usually more sarcastic and have to use their minds moreso than guys

I think girls are just funny in a different way. A guy can be crude and funny but if a girl is crude its just wrong. We have to be cute funny instead of saying something with “bollox, fúck and cúnt” in it.

"cute funny" - this is what i have a problem with, girls will always be cute funny but its not genuine laughter. Its sympathy. I am generalising I'll admit that and some of you may know some reasonably funny girls but its still not pure laughter.

I concur. I have in mind the "Girlfriends funny friend" She and her other mates all think she's hysterically funny. She's not, she's loud for a girl, almost masculine in her tone and comes out with unwitty trashy statements which may be controversial (for a girl to say) but are from the same vine as the shizzle lads used to come out with when they were 11 years old.

As for the girl that says "You obviously haven't talked to many girls".. yes it's true, your mates think you are funny but infact you are just an insecure loud person who feels like you have to shout "funny things" across a crowded street (typical example of a non-funny girl act) to your mates and have a big outrageous laugh just to be accepted. If you chill out a bit, You might find that you have much more to offer.

You know what really bugs me. When I say something absolutely hysterical when it's just me and the GF and she titters soulessly, but if loud Amanda (for example) says something like "Oh I was pissed last night.. I kept slapping Kevin on the arse.. it was so funny!" She roars with hearty laughter. Equality? No.

Yes and that was funny. Keep it up. I agree that funny girls exist but very few and far between.

I have a girl I'm pegging at the minute. Her best friend is 'great craic like' (shes from cork), my girl could sit and laugh at her friend for hours. All this girl does it continually talk, hardly stopping for air. First time I met her friend was the three of us in a quiet pub. I sat there like a plumb not laughing, just couldnt do it. I couldnt even add my spin on the conversation as she wouldnt stop talking.

My girl rarely laughs at me so i'm kinda wondering what she sees in me.

hallelujah, you are wrong - very wrong. You can't just make a huge generalisation like that. If you said "From my experience, girls are not as funny as guys" then it would be ok.

You stated something not true. I know funny girls, I know unfunny girls, I know funny guys, I know unfunny guys. I have seen good and bad male comedians. I have seen good and bad female comedians

You don't really know what you are talking about. Like someone else mentioned... it's probably the people in your classes (assuming you're very young) and the people you hang around with.
