Or you could sacrafice a few of your drive bays.........

Dont worry, you will still have 50 or so left:D

was looking at that it would be abit tricky but would be well posibal.

i could by 2 hard drive bay holders thing and just pull the bottem of 1 and fit them together and then place the rad perfectly in that.

ps what case you using cozzy.

I am thinking of getting a Coolermaster Praetorian:)

P.s If you are at Gamecon, You will see it:D

At the bottom of your case is a perfect opening for a dual rad, just remove the existing mesh and install the wheels.

with the wheels there would be enough its a rad its does well with little airflow. I cut a hole in the top of my case and regretted it after.

well ive never done it, but i have 2 stackers and they are soo easy to work with because of the size, id sat it would be easy enough to be honest

you'd just need supports coming out from the sides of the drive rail then bolted into the rad enclosure.

    would look sweet

personally i think the rad mounted on the bottom of the case is ugly... BUT it is the easiest option

Put an auxilliary 2nd 1x120mm rad in place of the 120mm fan on the rear panel.I'm kinda surprised someone hasn't released a 1-3 x 5.25" bay rad option (air being sucked in through front panel, fan is inside the case).

Is stacking 2 rads ontop of each other with one fan pulling air through them feasible?

There are reasons why nobody uses 2 rads, it degrades performance.

does it? i never saw that info anywhere
i always use 2 rads in most my setups

Cause's a pressure drop which degrades pump and flow performance.

if you have a decent pump it shouldnt make hardly any difference if any

are you talking about to sperate rad or a dual rad.

Two rads stacked on each other, one layer of fan(s) on top blowing/pulling air through.
I would've thought thatif they're the same rads, the fins would line up and you would'nt get (a drastic) pressure drop.

Thanks for answering my query Krazy-8.

do you mean it like that rad or two diffrent rads in a case in diffrent place ????

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,817 ✭✭✭✭po0k

    No.
    Think sandwich.
1 240x120mm rad, stacked on another 240x120mm rad with a pair of fans blowing air through both of them. In the stacker, to put them on the bottom would probably mean losing any PCI slots you have and possibly the 2nd PCIe x16 slot.
They could be on the one loop, or two seperate loops - if ye all meant water pressure.
I use the term "chained" to describe 2 or more rads in one wc loop. Apologies for any confusion.

i dont know tbh, never seen it in a pc store before, it usually comes bundled with stuff, like the thermaltake bigwater gives u a bit.
i dont know where you'd get a roll of it :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,012 ✭✭✭✭Cuddlesworth

I'm not sure of the full reasons for the dual rad thing, but my rough understanding is that the pressure in the tube(small space) and the pressure in the rad(big space) are different. The pump has to force water from high to low to high againn and this can cause a strain when it has to do this twice. It affects flow which affects waterblock performance. I suppose if you are not working with a high flow system like me (which I might be selling soon) you may not care about flow rates. But if it degrades performance more than a second rad will give you then whats the point? Its amasing what you learn when you try to fix a houses heating system.

Also I have some velcro tape lying around my house, but its a third the size of that stuff.
