PPP - When will they start accepting Neteller

The only reason I do not play PPP, and I play the american skins instead is because they accept Neteller, and it is very handy and convenient to say the least - but I love PPP's integration with the bookies and also that they do betting on Northern Irish League Football too.

I remember speaking to PPP staff about 4-5 months ago and they reckoned they would have the Neteller feature running in April '06.

Has there been an update on it ...as we're coming into June, I'm sure you'll have an answer for me Pit-Boss

I can't wait to get back on the PPP tables... but it won't be until they have Neteller as a payment merchant.

    Cheers,
    Sparky :)

They've been testing it on the system for a while. It's due to launch in the next couple of weeks.

we should have neteller live next week. it has been in testing for last couple of months (and wanted for a year).

Its not just another payment method which ppp agrees to accept, a lot more complicated than that apparently.

will update in this thread when it goes live.

look, im going to level with all of you.

up in ppp towers we have this attic. there is a troop of midgets in that attic and they push buttons and pull levers.

one of those levers in labelled 'neteller'.

the midgets in the attic are on strike and until such time as i can come to a wage agreement and coax them in from the window ledge, the neteller lever won't be pulled.

    sorry for the delay.

    blame the midgets.

    thank you.

wont be long, i will bump this thread when the ridiculously long testing period has finished. last week i was last told.

Apparantly all the midgets want is fair treatment and a few babies to eat. Unfortunately karlh has so far refused to bow to these demands, simply stating: "mmmmmmmmmmmmm i loikes to gnaw their bones"

I assume it's really a political decision about trying to keep US customers off your site and it doesn't really take all this time to set up the software to accept it and to complete the "testing". Right?

So it should be up within the week, all goes well? :)

nothing political, we can limit our customers on sign up. The delay is down to complications on the casino side of the business. I dont have details but shouldn't be too mcuh longer and will post when live.

there is a $101 sign up bonus or a 100% reload bonus up to $100.

open to suggestions as always but the biggest bonus is fish-shaped. :)

We are introducing a comprehensive 'VIP Program' shortly.

We don't use the 'R' word 'round these parts

Karl, any limitations to the reload bonus, or is it the normal lodge in money, play x amount of hands, etc.

i'm not impressed tbh. as it is i can transfer funds between 3 different sites through neteller and withdraw direct to my bank account in 24hrs from VC. i would have thought PP would have all of the above including withdrawls from shops, considering they are playing catch up.

Congrats Karl, a lot done more to do etc.

if not in another promo, you can deposit while entering the code and we will match the deposit amount once you have accrued the necessary paddy points.

Does the 'only one bonus per 6 month period' apply to this one? (I finished my last one 3 months ago). And is it the same number of points per $ as the others?

If its a no to the first and a yes to the second, I think PPP have just won me back! :)

I just tried to stick a few bob on for the GJP satellite thats on tonight and I got this message when I put in my Neteller details ...

For security reasons we may need to suspend your account for 36 hours while we verify your details with NETeller. You may expediate this process by sending us a copy of your passport/driving licence AND utility bill/bank statement. Please note that your deposit will be processed immediately, but will not be available for up to 36 hours if your account is suspended.

This was after getting on to a manager to unlock my credit card. Its a bit strange I have never being asked this when putting cash on to a site.

Just about to do so in a minute, i'll let you know how I got on.

EDIT - Just read your post above about the 36 hour speech, got the same message :(

Nope, for the June Reload you have until the end of July to clear it, then you will be eligible for another bonus. We plan to do one every month so effectively you can avail of a deposit/reload bonus every 2 months.

same number of paddy points per $.

This procedure is in place to prevent US players signing up. It will not affect anyone who has had a checked credit card registered on their account. Until such time as we accept US fish we have to verify the nationality of new neteller users. Pain in the batty but once you verify it'll be fine.

The problem Karl is that the Godpoker $101 bonus doesnt officially end til Aug31, but people cleared it in February/March. But theyre not allowed get any of these new reload bonuses because there seems to be something on their account saying they are still playing the Godpoker bonus.
I can see how it makes sense from a PPP POV as they don't want to give people too many bonuses - however what it means in my case is that I'm spending 95% of my poker time on VC.

Why would PPP care if US players sign up or not? And why would US Players try sign up to the PPP skin?

    Bp! wrote:

poker in the US is still a legal grey area (moves to ban it outright are in the works) and because ppp is part of an Irish PLC we are being extra careful.

    info here: http://www.pokerplayersalliance.org/

hopefully things will change once the law is clarified.

i don't know but they do, that's why this is in place.

I imagine PPP want to protect their 'Mostly Irish, but a few Brits' identity...
A lot of people joining up (newbies to OL poker) seem to have a fear of US players.

not at all, an 'Oirish' identity would go down a storm in the US. we're only keeping them out for the reasons i mentioned.

That is an extremely cautious move on PPP's side. Its been interesting following this alright but its very hard to see it ever going ahead, i know alot of senators signed the bill but surely winnings by Americans being taxed is the option the american governement would select.

Understandably PPP want to protect themselves from after effects IF this bill was ever brought into law, but wouldnt the worse case scenario be that PPP would have to suspend all american originated accounts? as PPP had not broke any laws at the time of player sign up?

Sorry for hijackin thread and thanks karl for all resonses

the bizarre situation in the US at the moment is that nobody really knows if poker is illegal or not right now. there is a wire act which outlaws gambling which could be extended to internet poker so people a lot higher up than me have decided to air on the side of caution.

the hope is that once things are clarified, ppp can get some of that action. until then, we have enough to be getting on with :)

    so neteller eh...

David, its bizarre marketing alright - I did PPPs $101 bonus in March but because it doesnt 'expire' til Aug31st, I can't do any of these reload bonuses til September.

But they still religiouly send me the emails 'Dear customer, here are all the wonderful bonuses which you are not actually entitled to, but why not be a schmuk and play with us anyway, we have $20 freerolls'. Its like they are deliberately trying to drive customers away. Shambolic. Glad I play via VC.
