    Hey all,

Did some checking online but I am still unsure about what is involved in Spinning.

Can somebody describe what is involved in a class. The intensity levels, the duration the goals.

    cheers,
    j

I used to do them at lunch with a mate, at first we thought it was for girls but to be honest there was as many if not more men doing them!
You have a special spiining bike with gears.

Where we did it there was an instructor and dance music. You started with stretching and then a little warm up on the bike, then the fun started. It was an hour long class.
As the music sped up you sped up on the bike, the instructor might say, "high resistance for 20 seconds" so you would ramp up the gears and pedal against what would be a hill for 20 seconds, then it could be "30 seconds high sprint" so you would do that.
You could also do exercises while on the bike like bench pressing while you are cylcing.

I found it unreal hard for the first three or four sessions, it nearly killed me as I could not walk for days but after a while it was excellent and you really noticed the difference.
