    Hi,

Complete beginner when it comes to weights which I now want to buy for home use.

Im hoping someone on here could recommend a beginners package.

Also websites where can find best priced. (if not will go with buy and sell)

I know for a fact any cheap ones in argos fall to bits pretty quickly.

I got a bench and 50kg of weights in Elevery Sports for 199....bench is fairly sturdy and well put together, looked at some cheaper benches that you'd be afraid to leave a salad on...

Suits me grand, I'm a total beginner as well, don't have any interest in alot of the extras you'd find on more expensive benches so I suppose it depends on what exactly you want...

Argos 50kg york set is about €76, 2 dumbells and a barbell and about 40kg in plates. I have no room for a bench, plenty you can do without it. If you get serious you can add on later.

Yeah the Argos CAST IRON weights are fine unless you're an animal. I have that 50kg Argos barbell/dumbbell set and I've put 176 kg on the barbell no problem. Obviously I needed to buy lots of extra plates.

Don't go near the Argos vinyl weights though. These really are crap and they are what gets Argos its bad reputation
