Okay Boys and Girls from Monday I am embarking on my own type of atkins mixed with high cardio training...

I have a wedding to goto and as best man I must not be tubby as I have let the training go for a few months and hence increased my waist size from 32" to 36"..

Do you think this attainable if I stick strictly to the Zero Carb Diet and Cardio..

If I can get through the first three days of misery from Carb withdrawl I am flying...

Anyone any idea's or tricks to do this maybe more effectively

A pound a day!?! Not going to happen I would imagine (Not safely anyway!). Sort out a proper diet, and a proper regieme and keep the benefits for the long term (and perhaps your own wedding?).

Forget about it. It can't be done safely. 2-4lb a week is the most you can lose, in my opinion.....

not a good idea....you'll end up passing out while giving teh speech and look like a tool....

get a fatburner and plenty of cardio and do your best

You will die before you lose that weight probably. Best to just start off slowly and work from there. Why do people put themselves under this pressure? It's not good.

Why leave it till 27 days before to start??? Too little to late, I think...

No carbs and a heavy cardio regime? As cheesedude says, you'll be dead or in hospital before you lose two stone.

ooh, excellent. a diet high in saturated fat combined with high intensity cardio- you can clog your arteries and waste muscle all in one go, and you'll have absolutely no energy. loving it.

probably. and the good news is you'll feel like sh*te, be gassy, bloated, lose as much (if not more) muscle than fat AND you'll have the joy of seeing it all go back on again along with some extra lbs for good measure within days of eating 'normally' again.

ok, all joking aside (and I was only joking.. sorta ;) ), unfortunately there is no such thing as a quick fix. To lose weight effiecently you're looking at losing between 1-2 lbs a week, not a day. faster than that and its likely to be water and muscle. As another poster said, it would have been better to have thought abouot this a couple of months ago when it was more realistic. In three weeks you could easily lose half a stone though, and with a good cardio and weights program you will appear much healthier and fitter, even if you still have a coupl of inches to shed as opposed to having the bad breath/ constant farting/ utterly fatigued feelings that come with atkins'.

Don't make the mistake with cardio of doing long high intensity sessions- keep them lower intensity (a brisk walk or slow jog will burn more calories from fat- higher intensity will burn muslce for energy) and long (45-60 minutes). Drink lots of water and green tea to cleanse your system. Cut out processed foods- ALL of them. Eat lenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, eat 5-6 small meals a day. Eat protein with every meal and eat starchy carbs earlier in the day. sleep well, cut out alcohol.

quick fixes aren't fixes at all, they exacerbate the long term problems. Make changes you can stick to for life.

Let me put it this way dude.

I recently lost 15 pounds in 5 weeks. I trained like a beast, my diet was perfection itself and in all modesty i'm a freak for being able to do so while adding muscle and getting stronger.

The time frame you have given yourself is just not healthy.

What was your regime, Dragan? How often? What was your ratio of weights to cardio? What kind of cardio did you do?

    (Just curious!)

5x5 weight routine 3 times a week, backed up with Crossfit and kickboxing training, some LIT and some HIIT.

You can check it all out here, as it is nice and documented. ;)
