Huh, I have a 2GB hotmail (well, Windows Live Mail) account? Is everyone not signed up for that beta yet?

you can get 250mb by doing this:

set your country to america, state to florida, zip to 33332

    close the account

go to the normal login page, the one where you have to enter your address, not the one that remembers your address so you only have to enter the password

it'll ask if you want to activate the account. click activate and click past the few pages of ads. the size will be 25mb and may or may not go up to 250mb. it seems to randomly pick which ones it increases.

closing the account doesn't delete your email

Takes a couple of weeks sometimes to get the upgrade but then agian why bother when 2.7 GB is available from GMail straight away.

I've had 2GB with yahoo for ages - is the only reason for staying with hotmail just to keep the address? I've heard it's a bit spammy too, that right?

Why would you want to use hotmail?

I've had my hotmail account for about 7 or 8 years. Handy to get extra space if you have an account you'd like to keep. Did the 250 meg increase a year or so ago and havent bothered deleting emails since :p

I have 4.725Gb between gmail and Windows Live mail using approx 900Mb of space (3800 mails) in gmail and hotmail is empty bar spam.

My hotmail account is my main email account (out of habit, as its the email I'm known by and is the contact email for when I buy things from the online stores), 25mb makes it almost useable now, I don't have to delete every second email I receive after a day.

I have a Gmail account but to be honest, I just don't like it, as soon as I set it up (prior to actually giving to anyone) my account became full of spam, Viagra this; webspace that, seems like Google gave my address to anyone who wanted it the day I signed up.

Never had a single spam in GMail, hotmail full of the Cr@p. Just report the spam as such instead of deleting it and they will try to trace it and block the sender in future.

i personnally can't stand gmail. the interface pisses me off to no end. far prefer hotmail, even if it has a much smaller capacity.

Have received about 5 spam messages in my Gmail account, had it more than a year now. They all were caught by the filter. I somehow doubt Google would jeopardise their position by selling lists to spammers

No spam in my gmail, none anymore in hotmail, loads in my ancient esatclear one (daily at least 3).

I assume its random email.address@whoever.yourwith and they just send it crap in the hope you buy into it, which must happen loads

imo, the new revamped yahoo mail is streets ahead of any of the others - 1gig, and the interface is tremendous, its just like using Outlook or Lotus notes on the web. And i can honestly say that NO spam gets through to the inbox, there is a mailbox for the spam that can be checked, but very little goes in there either.

And isn't there a thing about google scanning your mails for targeted advertising? Dodge.

Who gives a crap what they scan i couldnt care less if the scan it or even read it themselves its only email not like i send private info from it.

And i just checked my yahoo (first time in a year) and the ads suck at least in google you dont notice them at all no flash/gif rubbish.
