Does anybody have a recommendation of the best way to measure body fat at home? I have tried using the measuring tape method and an internet calculator but I dont think that it was that accurate. (or maybe it just didn't give me the result I wanted to hear!:( )

I know that a calipers is meant to be fairly accurate. Does anyone know where to buy a cheap pair?

Also, is Electrical Impedance Testing as crap as it sounds and is there somewhere that it can be done easily?

    ..in the right hands.

You can get them from www.Bodybuilding.com for less than a tenner, although there's shipping costs so it hepls if you're buying something there anyway.

The "Science" way is to immerse you in a pool on a hanging scales, handiest way is stand in front of a full length mirror and hop up and down. If it jiggles it's probably excess :D Visually judging is good for motivation as well, you can see your body change and it spurs you on to further gains.

Get a polaroid or digital camera and take a pic of yourself about once a month, it shows the changes more clearly than a daily scan in the mirror ;)
I'd go more by how you look, your clothes fit and how much energy you have rather than relying on figures which may be no more accurate really.

    hahah brilliant.
Yea I totally agree though. It's all about if you can see a change.
I've lost nearly 2stone in the past three weeks and damn do I feel
a lot better about myself. I still have a few weeks to go before my
holiday so I plan on stayin the same weight and just bulking up now :D

Eeek! 28 pounds in 3 weeks sounds a little excessive. If you are looking for a true reduction in bodyfat you'll need to take things a bit slower as i would wager most of that reduction is water weight. Good luck with the weight loss but remember to be sensible about it.

I was 15-8 I went down to 14. I started cycling again which does
a lot for me. So For the past 5wks I've been doing about 8/10miles
everyday + going to the gym and doing 15/25min jog, 10more mins
cardio on a different machine and then about 25mins of weights.
+I was only really eating salad's and steaks. I was having about 4/5
small meals a day instead of a big dinner.

:) Lets hope I can keep it up. It's all about hard work and determination.
But its well well well worth it. I'm happy to say I'm addicted to the awl
excercise again, such a good feeling.

Ha, I use the same method to measure how much I've bulked up, it's not scientific, but it works.
