Hey, looked around but I couldn't find anything so here goes:

I've been going to the gym about 3-4 days a week recently, doing weights/cardio/core work etc. and I'm pretty happy with the results.

However, I find my biceps/triceps are getting bigger yet my forearms are still really skinny and it just looks a bit weird. What exercises are good for your forearms/wrist area?

Also, when I do core work, all I do is crunches and leg raises, is there anything a bit more interesting I can do? Or more effective?

Yip, I have the same problem but its more a case of my bis and tris are getting stronger quicker that my forearm and grip. It just takes ages. Until recently I haven't ever exposed by arms to too much weight lifting. I reckon it has taken 6 months to show any noticable (to me:rolleyes: ) size change in my forearms. It will probably take another 6 months before anyone else notices:o

I find the lat pull downs and chins are the best at craping out my forarms. Bench presses, deadlifts, rows etc. will all help your forearms and grip over time, it just takes forever.

As for core stuff, if you can get your hands on a medcine ball try russian twists and v sit ups for starts.

I had same problem too! Good exercises for the forearms are hammer curls, dumbell wrist curls and reverse barbell curls. Do these with heavy weights and feel the burn.. its awesome!

On your core, your core is not just you abs and obliques its every intricate and deep muscle group in the area of your mid section and blower back. Make sure you hit it all otherwise you could end up over developed on one side and cause weakness on the other in this case your lower back.

If your gym has hammer strenght equipement try using the preacher curl machine.
Train forearms at the end of biceps training and, on their own twice a week.

And dont use straps when lifting weights!

Heavy rows, deadlifts and farmers walk will all add to your forearms.

If you not doing them already i suggest you work them into your program.;)

Reverse barbell curls are great, I find. The burn is delectable.

A classic Bruce Lee and many more used was the rollup. Essentially get a bar, about the length and thickness of a dumbbell bar, to which a rope is attatched. The rope should just reach the ground when the arms are outstretched and horizontal to the floor. To the rope is attached a stack of plates. Slowly, using only your wrists, wind up the rope. This kills but it really blistzes the forearms.

Bodyweight wise try finger tip pushups, and finger grip chins. You may also want to try a few isometric exercises.
