How do you become a mod?

Just a qeury. There are quite a few moderators on the site. How do you decide who gets to have the power and who dosnt? Just wondering:)

The Administrators decide who they think would be a suitable moderator, being a trustworthy member of boards goes a long way. Your interests are a factor too, so for example, I'm a huge film and music fan, and I am moderating boards I have an interest in.

one thing that annoys me about boards, particularly when you have a thread going along happily in "after dark", and then i assume the Mod , without any warning authocratically moves it to an area he/she deems more suitable. Really irritates me !!! equality !!! i could understand if it is posted in completly the wrong place , but sometimes live and let live.

i guess you will just have to learn to live with these little disappointments in life....

and learn one thing, there is no equality on boards. and just becuase you dont agree with it, does not mean its wrong or bad.

First of all the current mods pick a list of 32 people.

Then they turn it into a knockout competition, 1 round being held everyday after the 3rd full moon of the year, until there is just 1.

It's basically a showdown at high noon, alot of people die. Due to this the winner get's sentenced for life imprisonment and all they get is a ****ty dell laptop with instructions to moderate on Boards.

Slowly the lose all sense of reality and humour, that's why they're angry all the time.

Instead of the American Idol judges, its Cloud, DeVore, ecksor, Regi and Vexorg who do moderator judging. Ive seen people go home in tears

I'm on a mac and i've noticed i dont have the report post function, so do any of the mods here use macs and is there any other way they are effected?

Theres no easy answer to this question but a combination of blood sweat and tears should ensure that you will be elevated to Mod Status eventually darkman2.
