Mods please dont move this to Travel for a while, it will get more attention here.

OK heres the deal, ive to go to a wedding reception on the weekend of May 20th. I only need accom for that night. Now typical me left finding accom. until the last minute. I only found out that theresa a concert on in dublin the same night, EVERYWHERE ive tried is booked out

Does anyone know of a B&B/Hostel/Hotel (On a budget of about 150euro for a double room so im guessing hostel or b and b) in or around Dublin city, pref. close to St Stephens green... Many thanks if you do!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,209 ✭✭✭✭JohnCleary

    Fitzwilliam Lawn Tennis Club
    www.fltc.ie

    Dublin 6 somewhere...
I mean we wouldnt be leaving until about 3am so taxis wouldnt be that expensive tbh... Anywhere within a 5 mile radius of that place would do fine

Lots of guest houses, tourist hostels in Donnybrook.

Yeah, they usually have rooms spare if it's not a rugby Dublin - http://www.schoolhousehotel.com/

There are load of places in Dublin 6. You should do a Google search for B&B's in Harold's Cross, Ranelagh, Rathgar, etc.

    Everywhere there is booked out

Other poster: The schoolyard is booked out also :(

Does the tennis club itself have accomodation?

I find that if you try and book the hotel where the wedding itself is on, they tell you they are booked out, if you say you are with the wedding, they magically find you a room.

I think you are in trouble, the sites I usually use are all booked out also, have never seen that! (www.bookassist.com, www.centralr.com, ie.hotels.com)

Have you considered anywhere a bit further out? Fitzwilliam is just beside the 46A and IIRC and there'd be loads of taxis going up and down, you could try somewhere on the N11 if you're stuck, the Montrose and the Radison come to mind. How about Bewley's in Ballsbridge, loads of B&Bs around there too

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,367 ✭✭✭✭Sleepy

Stillorgan Park is right on the N11 as well and not unreasonably priced iirc.

eek just had a look on lastminute.com and nada....I would try ringing some of the hotels as they often say they are fully booked online but they often hold back one or two rooms or they may have a cancellation..good luck.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,209 ✭✭✭✭JohnCleary

The tennis club itself doesnt have any accom... pitty that

Ive spent a tenner credit ringing places today! And still nothing :(

If anyone magically happens to see a place that has accom for no more than about 150 for a double room id be really greatful! I'm thinking I Wont be making this wedding...

Have you tried the Ibis at the Red Cow Hotel? Night Bus should go right by, and would be about 15e for a taxi to there.

There's always the place above Fibbers on Parnell Street. Can't remember what it's called but even when there's a big event on, there's rooms there. After all, who wants a hotel above a disco?

    It's worth a try.

Weird, it brought back loads yesterday. Seems to be a issue that the check in date is so close.

Russell Court details are here if you want to try them:
    http://www.russellcourthotel.ie/

At this stage i'd say your best bet is to check out goldenpages.ie, start at the beginning and get phoning.
