How is it that in the city centre of the capital of Dublin there are no decent exercise facilities worth 2cent ?

Its a complete disgrace. Any other city of similar size to Dublin would have lots of facilities for indoor soccer, proper sized swiming pools, massive gyms and the like.

Is this likely to change in the future ?

I've no idea if it is likely to change but I doubt it. Sport is just not given enough priority in Ireland. It is a disgrace that there are no clean public swimming pools in the city. Swimming in particular is vital as being able to play football is unlikely to ever save your life but being a reasonable swimmer might just.

Unless land prices fall due to radioactive fallour from Sellafield, no.
However, there are quite a few facilities around the south-side suburbs - not too far from city centre - and I'm only naming the really well known ones

    Swimming pools
    Sportsco
    Mespil
    National Aquatic Centre
    David Loyd
(Within a gym - Westwood, LA Fitness)

    Indoor Soccer
    UCD
    Sportsco

    Gyms
    LA
    Crunch
    Westwood
    David Lyod

the NAC is expensive. I wouldn't mind paying if the 50m pool was open longer but it's not. Do you happen to know any more details about the sportsco swimming pool? Is it clean? Is membership expensive? thanks.
