Hey man, I've been looking into nitric oxide supplements for a while now, I was thinking bout getting no-xplode if you've got any(unless they've taken it away from you too)).Thing is I'm only sixteen, going 17 in March-am I too young would you say??All I'm taking now is some cheap whey protein, got some casein left aswell, and creatine monohydrate-I've been traing bout 18 months and have gained about 20kg since.Just that I think my gains have really slowed down and I'm looking for somrthing that'll give me a bit more of a pump in the gym

are you getting enough protein in your diet?you should be getting at least 1 gram of protein for every pound you weigh dude!

I wouldnt advise it at 16, I took it when I was 17 and it scared the **** out of me, i was waking up in the middle of the night and my heart was ready to explode it felt, and i hadnt taken no explode since that afternoon

if you find your not gettin as much gains as usual, make sure your constantly (every 3/4 weeks) changing exercises for a particular muscle, to keep shocking it into growth. if you keep doing a bench press for example for months, your pecs will get used to that movement within a number of weeks, so they wont be shocked into growth.
this could be one of your problems

all nitric oxide will do is increase your heart rate and relax and expand your blood vessels, so you get a good pump and feel like youve drank 10 coffees.
make sure your diet and exercise is good first, then look to other supplements like creo and no

    ??

    EDIT: Meant to say, necro-bump.

yes......theres a ****load of caffeine/caffeine like chemicals which will increase your heartrate...

your bloodvessels will be expanded allowing the extra blood thats being pumped, to reach the muscle your working out (which is short in oxygen, which the blood carries)...

    thats nitric oxide..

Quirkster your advice is confusing. Nitric Oxide is produced in the body naturally to begin with and it does a lot more than just increase your heart rate.

So you're actually saying it's the caffeine and caffeine like substances which increase your heart rate, and not the nitric oxide?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 331 ✭✭quirkster

    whats confusing about it?
and yes youre right, its converted from the amino acid arginine (spelt wrongly) i believe.

as ive stated above, it DOES do a lot more than increase heart rate, read what i wrote!

and yes its the caffeine / caffeine like substances that increase your heart rate, the nitric oxide relaxes/expands the blood vessels primarily, the nitrix oxide has very little to do with the increase in heart rate

Yeah that's Mickks store, he also runs Pinnacle GYM up there as well.

Have been meaning to drop in and see what they've got.

You stated, and I quote; "all nitric oxide does is increase your heart rate", and now you're saying that's not what it does, and it does something completely different.

Can you not see why that would be confusing?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 331 ✭✭quirkster

and what did i write directly after those words??

''that it expands and relaxes the blood vessels''

Full quote - ''all nitric oxide will do is increase your heart rate and relax and expand your blood vessels''

Nitric Oxide as a product, such as NO explode, NO shotgun, Nitrix, Ngorge tabs, Storm, will increase your heart rate and expand your blood vessels. this is because the nitric oxide product will contain caffeine etc.
it wont be called, 'Caffeine Explode', itll be called NO ( Nitric Oxide) Explode because its more shocking or whatever.

as a chemical compound on its own, it will expand / relax blood vessels.

i hope that clears up your confusion/inability to read full sentences

I'd definitley recommend Mick's shop to anyone who is looking to buy supplements,or for supplement advise.Keep up the good work!!

Nitric oxide is a chemical compound with chemical formula NO. It is a COMPLETELY different thing to caffeine. The only thing they have in common is that they're sometimes used in the same shake forumla.

NO, as a chemical compound DOES NOT increase your heart rate like caffeine may. You seem to be unable to make the distinction between the product (eg NO Explode, NO Shotgun etc) and the actual things that make up the forumla (eg NO, caffeine, dextrose, flavourings etc all go into that big red tub that BSN sells).

Nitric Oxide, NO, as a chemical compound, does NOT contain caffeine. This is an ADDITIONAL ingredient added during the manufacturing process.

What you're trying to say, in akin to saying that since there are two common ingredients in a shake, they both do the exact same thing. Which is complete and utter....

I think my ability to read full sentences is ok. Hopefully now your confusion is cleared up, and can realise that while the product may have a similar name to the main compound in it, there's several other ingredients that are actually at play and having other effects too.

Quirkster what are you playing at? Seriously?

You couldn't be more wrong. You remind me of that Dr Nick Riviera from the Simpsons.

    woahhhhh hold up

hanley, that is the very point i'm making.
im saying that, nitric oxide relaxes the blood vessels. a nitric oxide product contains more than just NO, including caffeine and the rest of the stuff u mentioned. I know what im talkin about, and you seem to aswell, maybe i didnt make my points clear enough.apologies if thats the case

however i am well aware, and i have said already, that its the caffeine that increases heart rate, not the nitric oxide chemical.

however, the entire product is still refered to as nitric oxide, even though it contains other ingredients.
this is where our confusion lies i believe.

and to TheEntreperneur, how couldnt i be more wrong?i am correct in everything that ive said, or certainly in what ive meant to say

    But I have.
And i'm just after gettin of their(nutritionconnection.com) website, and found out the f***er at the till ripped me off after being reluctant to sell them to me(cos under 18), saying something about not wanting to take 60 euro off a 16 year old-their site advertises it at 40.(it's the 180 tab box). And no, i lost the bloody reseipt.

Guess it's still pretty much my fault for not not doing my research.

Well anyway nothing i can do about it now.
I've just spent the past 45 mins looking up reviews on the product, and read it's not great unless stacked with no-xplode, which we can't get anymore.
Wasted a lot of money, and don't think i'll get more untill i get a credit card ( be able to shop online), but i have it now and am looking fore a similar product to no-xplode, i think i'll just get the nutrition x xplode, 50euro at my gym(i know it's cheaper online, says camden street store and gym at 35 euro, but i'm pretty sure that's only online)if ANYONE lives nearby(south dublin)can sell me cheaper, would be greatly appreciated.

thanx dubdude, but i'm after checkin out the new "vitamin shop"(only bodybuilding stuff)
in moore st. shopping mall, and purchased NitroBolon II for 40euro-140 servings, much better value than no-xplode, or anything else really. If anyone's interested i'd recommend it can see at trecnutrition.com.Also got some CEE capsules for pretty cheap, same brand.Just back from the gym now and there was definately a noticeable increase in the pumps i got. However, i couldn't lift anymore than i could last week.

Where's carlisle??might drop by after the tub is finished(if i still think NO is worth it)
