Not a 100% Dan, did it last year and had great crack. Played in the mixed league 2 that was held out in Blackrock RFC, think we're in St. Andrews in booterstown this year.

Terrible, came 2nd last in the group. It was my first year but my teammates said that the standard in league 2 took a big jump.

Ya we were in Grade C.. only starting.. Came Second in our group it gets so serious The Winning team got 3 NZ rugby players to join there team swear one guy could throw the ball the full width of the pitch... In Grade B this yr though had a prac match tonight started off badly but managed to find our pace again..The Standard is getting better and better everyyear.. had to add another venue in cork this yr demand was so high..

I'd love to play, but alas couldn't generate enough interest to get a team together.

    Maybe next year.

Tag rugby doesn't suit my rugby attributes:(

I'm too violent, slow and designed for contact, to be of any use in tag rugby.

Pfft, you sound perfect for my team!

i.e. you don't have a fear of direct sunlight and can breathe.

Aching this morning - played my first game in over a year last night - really enjoyed it and glad to be playing again. Beware of rugby union players sticking their leg out when you side step them!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,659 ✭✭✭PowerHouseDan

Yeah they think they can get away with it too. It Really depends what kinda ref you have.... Grade B- A will have good refs that will spot almost everyone, but the newbie ref people get away with Murder, BUt the ref will be told any contact Yellow card and any serious contact Red card, contact was a big issue last year. Its hard playing too though when your a ref i go crazy sometimes with the ref calls something.

I guess if we did get a team together we could look for sponsorship from somewhere.

Although, its probably far too late at this stage?

I've got a team registered, I used my credit card

Because everybody I've asked has also asked his/her friends, so far I have 16 people trying to get on the team - aarrgghh - and the headaches start again !!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,659 ✭✭✭PowerHouseDan

Have ye been training throughout the yr Aoa? If so for the people who come to the training all the time give them first pref.

Nah, we'd never be that organised.

Biggest problem is sometimes I have to be careful not to burn off the player along with his/her friend - technical stuff - as someone said earlier - yera it'll work itself out !!

I am playing in the Tag League in St. Marys Templeogue on a Wednesday night. We have 2 teams an A and a C. We have been decimated with injuries and a few people pulling out.

So I need a 2 or 3 guys who are interested in playing tag for the summer. it would be preferable if you have played some level of rugby / tag before. We have a pretty good team - although how good we are this year remains to be seen.

Let me know if you are interested and are free. Training is in Clonskeagh on Mondays and the games will always be in St Marys.

Now for the clanger..... are you free tonight? Not a necessity but would be a great assistance if you were.

    Thanks

    James
