A few details please. What OS are you running? What software did you use to play the dvd? Finally does it happen only when you are running the DVD? Will it play MP3s, cd audio, etc ok?

Do you have the same problem when you play audio CDs from the drive? What make of drive is it (Right-click on My Computer, Hardware tab, Device Manager, look for DVD/CD Drives)?

I had a Mat****a UJ845S in my laptop, same thing happened. I sent it back to the company that made my laptop (which was a major hassle, they were an English company, warranty didn't cover Irish addresses, cost approx €100 in postage). They replaced the drive with a Mat****a UJ846S. Week after I got it back, same thing happened. Extremely infuriating, can't really afford to send it back again. Will have to get in touch with them and see what they can do.

    still no joy on this

any clues anyone? wreckin my head that i can't play dvds on my pc since my dvd player has now died....

sounds like a radio signal being constantly interupted when i play dvds.

i can play my music files no problem. its just the sound on the dvds. the picture of the dvds isn't affected at all. just the sound...

tried the windows media site and all but couldn't find anything,

any help would be most appreciated (i have Lady Vengence and i want to watch it now!)

    thanks,

    k.
