wonder is it better than the dell w2600

also wonder whats the reponse time like in the Hyundai tv

more then likley it is. it does say that it is one of the worlds most leading brands

i thought they just made cars

but iam wrong they make nice lookin tvs

my friend just got a lcd tv 32 inch for his birthday

now his birthday is not until september it is his 18th

they bought him the tv a week ago and he does not get it until september

they spent 1300 on it.he has not seen it yet but i say it is nice

now i would say that tv would look nice with the xbox 360 on it

that is the reason my mate wanted one because he wanted it for his xbox 360

when i get mine sometime i will let you know what it is like

    found the tv

    http://www.planetmicro.co.uk/product_info.asp?stockcode=M005844

its either the 32" HYUNDAI Q321 or 32" HYUNDAI Q320

This one here looks very much like it. If that is it, it's an Hyundai Imagequest Q321. Not sure if freeview is built-in though.

What do you expect they work in a video store (not a dig at the staff) and electronics isnt the main business area.

have a 20in widscreen version of this excellent as a TV - deffinitely not for use as a computer monitor resolution not up to it !!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 953 ✭✭✭StRiKeR

yea that res is too low for 32", imagine the size of the icons at normal standard dpi, lol

don't know how good the TVs are but I have seen a lot of dead TFT and dead pixels on thier TFTs

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 370 ✭✭base2

I had a cheapish 32 inch LCD there for a while. Went back to CRT for the much better picture. If you're going LCD dont go cheap is my advice as you';re only going to be getting something that looks good.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54,957 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

i found out from xtra vision its the Q321 version

    http://reviews.cnet.com/Hyundai_ImageQuest_Q321_LCD_TV_32/4507-6482_7-31532695.html?tag=sub

what do ye think of this for xbox360

is this true HD tv and if not how would you know

Mailed xtravision myself and got a pdf spec sheet back titled A321.

Same panel I think, except Q321 has built in freeview decoder.

For 999 it looks a steal!

This is definately the A321 model - exclusive to Xtra-vision. Same as the Q321 except no freeview and no HDMI slot - although it does have DVI that is HTDP compliant

edit - a HDMI slot will be available in later releases of model - maybe next few weeks

If it has no HDMI port, with HDCP, then I think it's not supposed to be called "HD Ready"

It should be called "HD Compatible"

For the likes of SkyHD, it's believed that you will need your HDTV to have a HDMI slot with HDCP (encryption used)
This is definately the A321 model - exclusive to Xtra-vision. Same as the Q321 except no freeview and no HDMI slot - although it does have DVI that is HTDP compliant
Yet, on Xtravision website it says "HD Ready" and "HDMI Connection"

The xtravision site lists HDMI Connection as a feature, whereas komplett doesnt. So Id say it is HD Ready.

If it can do HDCP over DVI...then it can be called HD Ready i think.

    looks like a nice tv

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 4,668 Mod ✭✭✭✭Hyzepher

Definately HD Ready - the DVI can do HDCP.

There will be a HDMI connection on this model at some time - its quite possible XV have it already - I'll be going in to have a look over the next day or so - they have told me the Baggot st branch have one on display

I was thinking of getting it myself for my 360 and for when the PlayStation3 comes out. I was going to get a 26" HD ready TV in Currys for €799 but I might stretch to this instead.

Was looking at LOTR menu screen on it today. There was no one around to get the film actually going on it. I'll have another look tomorrow. Was in a rush today. First impression was that it wasn't as sharp as thr Sony & Philips in store. (Xtravision Baggot Street). Hard to know what kinda quality the signal was though.

Looks like ill pick one up then next week providing on they have them in stock, In blanch anyway, If I have to Ill ring up all other stores aswel see where I can get hold of one.

What do you think the odds of there being some left by end of next week ? Offer ends 31'st may. Ill be buying around the 26th. If I have to ill travel around to get one.

Had written a big spiel written for this, but when I submitted, it gave me an error, and lost what I'd written!
I'm not in the mood for typing it all out again, but here's a jpg of the specs. Someone more learned might be along in a while to confirm if it's a good set or not!

I saw an advertisement saying that it can be ordered at any Xtravision store. Whether that's for collection or delivery, it didn't say. I might pick up one in two weeks time after my exams. Is there limited availability though or what? Where did you see the part about the offer ending on the 31st?

Here's it on their site: http://www.xtravision.ie/xvElectrical.asp?id=345
