Just curious but has anyone here, perhaps i'm talking to the wrong group of UCDidians, found love in UCD, or even lust.

I dont just mean perving on Rosanna Davidson, i mean some kind of actual relationship of sorts.

Either I suck at relationships or UCD guys are crap, but after 4 years here I've still never gone out with a UCD guy.

Fell in love in first year, was told I was loved back, turned out I was being played, yadda yadda yadda. Fun and games. (Incidentally, this is why I don't like the concept of 'best friends' any more, but that's not for a public forum.)

A few interests here and there this year but that I-like-you-you-like-me-back situation is as elusive as ever. You never know. I guess the worst thing would be to give up, because how often do you hear people saying that they met their future partners/spouses in college, when they're thinking back over their third-level experiences?

Dont criticise the thread lads, it knew this is what was gonna happen. I wasnt ACTUALLY expecting all happy stories about how X was looking for a book in the library and so was Y, and it was the last one left and their eyes and hands met just at the same moment...

then there are two ways this story could go... three if i feel pushed to write em.

Idealistic: They instantly fall in love and have tonnes of babies yadda yadda no one cares

Realistic (if they're boardsies): the both blush and walk off and write reems of poetry (ok lets be honest they post unregged on Personal) issues about it.

Cynical, they fight over the book, the guy tries to be a gentleman but the girl sees straight through the whole "i'll let you have it so i can get ur phone number in order to get it off you bull****"... or something

I'd like to thank Gav for being the only one not to blast this.

Yes i know there was a thread before but i like to keep things fresh, consider this the fabreezed version.

Bleugh...just for you the story of how J (the one month wonder) and I met...

L&H Maidens Mace 2004....2nd round.....I am mid speech when I notice that the guy in 3rd prop is paying absolutely no attention to what I'm saying, I am pissed off....

Later...ten speakers sit around while the judges go away to do their thang....Mr. Rude 3rd prop strikes up a conversation with me.... we both get through the round...we take the same bus home (to different houses!!)..... he asks for my number but refuses to give me his....I revert back to thinking he's rude.

Next day....I kinda forget his existence. He comes over to talk to me outside Th L., we sit together in our History lecture and go on to lunch and something else after that....(can't remember, can't have been that great).

Next week...quarter finals.....we've been hanging out together all week. We both bomb out of the maidens....him on the monday, me on the tuesday. After my bombing out he asks me out, and bothers to give me his number.

Sometime around that December....we realise that we're actually the crappest couple ever and break up.

Presently: Bestest buds.

It's a crap story admittedly, but you did want one.

Elmyra, thats kinda sweet.

Seems to me that these days with so many people on the net, meeting partners is just as likely to happen online as it is in college.

The first time I met my boyf it was in the Forum Bar. I told him to **** off a few minutes after I met him as he was really annoying me and I was in an awful mood. Love blossomed a few months after.
