My inner chest development has always lagged behind outer chest substantially. Recently due to injury I lost of lot of weight (muscle and fat), and now that i'm beginning training again, I thought it might be time to correct this anomoly.

Unfortunately my gym doesnt have a dual-cable machine, so no cable crossovers. Any ideas about improving inner chest?

    Close grip bench press.

It might just be the shape your pecs are taking naturally because of your genetics so you cant change it too much. Your inner chest will develop as the rest of your chest develops, but if you wanna try 'emphasise' that area a bit more then Id say dumbell flys, close grip bench press would be useful.

The two heads of the pec major both go from outer to inner chest. I.e. You can't really make the inner chest grow specifically, you just have to make the whole lot bigger and the rest will come down to genetics.

Whats your weight and current flat bench with dumbbells or bar bell?

prior to the injury i was about 176lbs and benched about 200lbs for 6 reps.

now i'm down to 168lbs, my bench for the same reps is about 155lbs, although i've only benched once properly since the accident (which was about 10 weeks ago). I imagine it will shoot up fairly quick as the muscles reactivate and get used to working hard again.

Hey Tim its amazing you now have the idea that the chest develops to its genetic potential. Few weeks ago on another post you were on about upper, lower etc. Funny that you must have decided to read up a bit.
