Just finishing up a years round the world trip, and workin in a poxy bank in Wellington, New Zealand. All but one website is blocked on my PC, but for some reason this one isn't ? heehee

Nah not happy to be working ! Been working since November tryin to make ends meet...continuing with the travels in 3 weeks time, going Fiji/Cook Islands/Tahiti/L.A and then home !!! Should be back in July, in good time for the Irish summer !!! This should make the next few weeks fly

Welcome to boards then. Tough luck about the net connection. There are sites you can use though to get by firewalls like this one http://www.hidemyass.com/
I'm sure there are loads more if people would care to post links. I never use em but I hear they work a treat. Could solve your problem.

Ok sorry if I seemed a little abrupt...its just that reading about someone working for a "poxy" bank and who is after been travelling for the last two years with a south seas excursion coming up has little to crib about.

Its terrible that the bank has blocked all internet access indeed...like they kinda expect you to work for them in their time.

I read a post a while ago about this site being mainly occupied by whinging students, and immatures ..I'm beginning to think that poster was right.

been here since november....just worked my ass off since then, except for a short few days up in taupo !! lost my skydive and bungy virginity there which was kinda sweet ! yeh the wind here is kinda annoying, and its a bit too small, but i'm defo enjoyin it...great great country

gonna be so wierd coming home ... but reality prevails, as does my bank account ( ouch ! )

Im here just over 3 months now. Well 3 months in NZ, 6 weeks in wellington.

Not working yet, looking for something but oddly finding it difficult enough in ways to get either temp work or full time in I.T. related activities.

Have had a few interviews recently so hopefully something turns up as the old money is getting low! And as im sure you are aware NZ isnt all that cheap either for some stuff. Wages here are relatively poor as well, living with a few locals and most considering moving abroad to work!

I actually found gettin temp work quite easy, through manpower rectruitment. When I initially arrived in Novemebr I almost straight away had a job working in the bank for $18 dollars an hour. Since then I've gotten another position for $15 an hour, but I had to move on due to differences with my boss !!

The rate of pay is much lower than home, but the cost of living is cheaper than home too, so it kinda evens out. It's not good if your trying to save to go travelling, but it's good if you want to just get by here.

yeh, i'd recommend them

only thing is that becaust it's a rec agency, they do take a % of ur pay. for example if u get 18 dollars with a job u get through them, and if u applied direct to the company you should be gettin $20 and so on...
